1 Foram estas as terras que os israelitas receberam por herança em Canaã, e que o sacerdote Eleazar, Josué, filho de Num, e os chefes dos clãs das tribos dos israelitas repartiram entre eles.
2 by|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3068" lot|strong="H1486" of|strong="H3068" their|strong="H3068" inheritance|strong="H5159", as|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" LORD|strong="H3068" commanded|strong="H6680" by|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3068" hand|strong="H3027" of|strong="H3068" Moses|strong="H4872", for|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3068" nine|strong="H8672" tribes|strong="H4294", and|strong="H4872" for|strong="H3027" the|strong="H3068" half|strong="H2677" tribe|strong="H4294".
2 A divisão da herança foi decidida por sorteio entre as nove tribos e meia, como o Senhor tinha ordenado por meio de Moisés,

3 pois Moisés já tinha dado herança às duas tribos e meia a leste do Jordão. Mas aos levitas não dera herança entre os demais.
4 For|strong="H3588" the|strong="H3588" children|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Joseph|strong="H3130" were|strong="H1961" two|strong="H8147" tribes|strong="H4294", Manasseh|strong="H4519" and|strong="H1121" Ephraim: and|strong="H1121" they|strong="H3588" gave|strong="H5414" no|strong="H3808" portion|strong="H2506" unto|strong="H5414" the|strong="H3588" Levites|strong="H3881" in|strong="H3427" the|strong="H3588" land|strong="H2506", save cities|strong="H5892" to|strong="H1961" dwell|strong="H3427" in|strong="H3427", with|strong="H3427" the|strong="H3588" suburbs|strong="H4054" thereof|strong="H5892" for|strong="H3588" their|strong="H5414" cattle|strong="H4735" and|strong="H1121" for|strong="H3588" their|strong="H5414" substance|strong="H7075".
4 Os filhos de José formaram as duas tribos de Manassés e Efraim. Os levitas não receberam porção alguma da terra; receberam apenas cidades onde viver, com pastagens para os seus rebanhos.
5 As|strong="H6213" the|strong="H6213" LORD|strong="H3068" commanded|strong="H6680" Moses|strong="H4872", so|strong="H3651" the|strong="H6213" children|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Israel|strong="H3478" did|strong="H6213", and|strong="H1121" they|strong="H3651" divided|strong="H2505" the|strong="H6213" land.
5 Os israelitas dividiram a terra conforme o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés.
6 Then|strong="H1696" the|strong="H5921" children|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Judah|strong="H3063" drew|strong="H5066" nigh|strong="H5066" unto|strong="H1696" Joshua|strong="H3091" in|strong="H5921" Gilgal|strong="H1537": and|strong="H1121" Caleb|strong="H3612" the|strong="H5921" son|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Jephunneh|strong="H3312" the|strong="H5921" Kenizzite|strong="H7074" said|strong="H1696" unto|strong="H1696" him|strong="H5921", Thou|strong="H3045" knowest|strong="H3045" the|strong="H5921" thing|strong="H1697" that|strong="H3045" the|strong="H5921" LORD|strong="H3068" spake|strong="H1696" unto|strong="H1696" Moses|strong="H4872" the|strong="H5921" man|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" God|strong="H3068" concerning|strong="H5921" me|strong="H5921" and|strong="H1121" concerning|strong="H5921" thee|strong="H1696" in|strong="H5921" Kadesh-barnea|strong="H6947".
6 Os homens de Judá vieram a Josué em Gilgal, e Calebe, filho do quenezeu Jefoné, lhe disse: "Você sabe o que o Senhor disse a Moisés, homem de Deus, em Cades-Barnéia, sobre mim e sobre você.
7 Forty years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was|strong="H3068" I|strong="H1697" when|strong="H7725" Moses|strong="H4872" the|strong="H3068" servant|strong="H5650" of|strong="H1121" the|strong="H3068" LORD|strong="H3068" sent|strong="H7971" me|strong="H7971" from|strong="H7725" Kadesh-barnea|strong="H6947" to|strong="H7725" spy|strong="H7270" out|strong="H7971" the|strong="H3068" land; and|strong="H1121" I|strong="H1697" brought|strong="H7725" him|strong="H7971" word|strong="H1697" again|strong="H7725" as|strong="H1697" it|strong="H7725" was|strong="H3068" in|strong="H8141" mine|strong="H7971" heart|strong="H3824".
7 Eu tinha quarenta anos quando Moisés, servo do Senhor, enviou-me de Cades-Barnéia para espionar a terra. Eu lhe dei um relatório digno de confiança,
8 Nevertheless my|strong="H3068" brethren that|strong="H5971" went|strong="H5927" up|strong="H5927" with|strong="H5973" me|strong="H5973" made|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" heart|strong="H3820" of|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3068" people|strong="H5971" melt|strong="H4529": but|strong="H5971" I|strong="H3068" wholly|strong="H4390" followed|strong="H5927" the|strong="H3068" LORD|strong="H3068" my|strong="H3068" God|strong="H3068".
8 mas os meus irmãos israelitas que foram comigo fizeram o povo desanimar-se de medo. Eu, porém, fui inteiramente fiel ao Senhor, ao meu Deus.
9 And|strong="H1121" Moses|strong="H4872" sware|strong="H7650" on|strong="H3117" that|strong="H3588" day|strong="H3117", saying, Surely|strong="H3588" the|strong="H3588" land|strong="H5159" whereon thy|strong="H3068" foot|strong="H7272" hath|strong="H3068" trodden|strong="H1869" shall|strong="H3068" be|strong="H1961" an|strong="H1961" inheritance|strong="H5159" to|strong="H5704" thee and|strong="H1121" to|strong="H5704" thy|strong="H3068" children|strong="H1121" for|strong="H3588" ever|strong="H5769", because|strong="H3588" thou|strong="H1961" hast wholly|strong="H4390" followed|strong="H7272" the|strong="H3588" LORD|strong="H3068" my|strong="H3068" God|strong="H3068".
9 Por isso naquele dia Moisés me jurou: ‘Certamente a terra em que você pisou será uma herança perpétua para você e para os seus descendentes, porquanto você foi inteiramente fiel ao Senhor, ao meu Deus’.
10 And|strong="H1121" now|strong="H6258", behold|strong="H2009", the|strong="H3068" LORD|strong="H3068" hath|strong="H3068" kept|strong="H2421" me|strong="H1696" alive|strong="H2421", as|strong="H1697" he|strong="H3117" spake|strong="H1696", these|strong="H2088" forty and|strong="H1121" five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141", from|strong="H3478" the|strong="H3068" time|strong="H3117" that|strong="H3117" the|strong="H3068" LORD|strong="H3068" spake|strong="H1696" this|strong="H2088" word|strong="H1697" unto|strong="H1696" Moses|strong="H4872", while|strong="H3117" Israel|strong="H3478" walked|strong="H1980" in|strong="H8141" the|strong="H3068" wilderness|strong="H4057": and|strong="H1121" now|strong="H6258", lo|strong="H2009", I|strong="H3117" am|strong="H3068" this|strong="H2088" day|strong="H3117" fourscore|strong="H8084" and|strong="H1121" five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121".
10 "Pois bem, o Senhor manteve-me vivo, como prometeu. E foi há quarenta e cinco anos que ele disse isso a Moisés, quando Israel caminhava pelo deserto. Por isso aqui estou hoje, com oitenta e cinco anos de idade!
11 As|strong="H3117" yet|strong="H5750" I|strong="H3117" am as|strong="H3117" strong|strong="H2389" this|strong="H6258" day|strong="H3117" as|strong="H3117" I|strong="H3117" was|strong="H3117" in|strong="H3117" the|strong="H3117" day|strong="H3117" that|strong="H3117" Moses|strong="H4872" sent|strong="H7971" me|strong="H7971": as|strong="H3117" my|strong="H7971" strength|strong="H3581" was|strong="H3117" then|strong="H3318", even|strong="H5750" so|strong="H7971" is|strong="H3117" my|strong="H7971" strength|strong="H3581" now|strong="H6258", for|strong="H7971" war|strong="H4421" and|strong="H4872" to|strong="H3318" go|strong="H3318" out|strong="H3318" and|strong="H4872" to|strong="H3318" come|strong="H3318" in|strong="H3117".
11 Ainda estou tão forte como no dia em que Moisés me enviou; tenho agora tanto vigor para ir à guerra como naquela época.
12 Now|strong="H6258" therefore|strong="H6258" give|strong="H5414" me|strong="H5414" this|strong="H2088" mountain|strong="H2022", whereof the|strong="H8085" LORD|strong="H3068" spake|strong="H1696" in|strong="H3068" that|strong="H3588" day|strong="H3117"; for|strong="H3588" thou|strong="H5414" heardest|strong="H8085" in|strong="H3068" that|strong="H3588" day|strong="H3117" how|strong="H3588" the|strong="H8085" Anakim|strong="H6062" were|strong="H3117" there|strong="H8033", and|strong="H3068" cities|strong="H5892" great|strong="H1419" and|strong="H3068" fenced|strong="H1219": it|strong="H5414" may|strong="H3068" be|strong="H3068" that|strong="H3588" the|strong="H8085" LORD|strong="H3068" will|strong="H3068" be|strong="H3068" with|strong="H3068" me|strong="H5414", and|strong="H3068" I|strong="H3588" shall|strong="H3068" drive|strong="H3423" them|strong="H5414" out|strong="H3423", as|strong="H3117" the|strong="H8085" LORD|strong="H3068" spake|strong="H1696".
12 Dê-me, pois, a região montanhosa que naquela ocasião o Senhor me prometeu. Na época, você ficou sabendo que os enaquins lá viviam com suas cidades grandes e fortificadas; mas, se o Senhor estiver comigo, eu os expulsarei de lá, como ele prometeu".
13 And|strong="H1121" Joshua|strong="H3091" blessed|strong="H1288" him|strong="H5414"; and|strong="H1121" he|strong="H5414" gave|strong="H5414" Hebron|strong="H2275" unto|strong="H5414" Caleb|strong="H3612" the|strong="H5414" son|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Jephunneh|strong="H3312" for|strong="H1121" an|strong="H5414" inheritance|strong="H5159".
13 Então Josué abençoou Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e lhe deu Hebrom por herança.
14 Therefore|strong="H3651" Hebron|strong="H2275" became|strong="H1961" the|strong="H5921" inheritance|strong="H5159" of|strong="H1121" Caleb|strong="H3612" the|strong="H5921" son|strong="H1121" of|strong="H1121" Jephunneh|strong="H3312" the|strong="H5921" Kenizzite|strong="H7074", unto|strong="H3068" this|strong="H2088" day|strong="H3117"; because|strong="H5921" that|strong="H3117" he|strong="H3117" wholly|strong="H4390" followed|strong="H1961" the|strong="H5921" LORD|strong="H3068", the|strong="H5921" God|strong="H3068" of|strong="H1121" Israel|strong="H3478".
14 Por isso, até hoje, Hebrom pertence aos descendentes de Calebe, filho do quenezeu Jefoné, pois ele foi inteiramente fiel ao Senhor, ao Deus de Israel.
15 Now|strong="H1419" the|strong="H6440" name|strong="H8034" of|strong="H6440" Hebron|strong="H2275" beforetime|strong="H6440" was|strong="H8034" Kirjath-arba|strong="H7153"; which Arba was the|strong="H6440" greatest|strong="H1419" man|strong="H1419" among|strong="H8034" the|strong="H6440" Anakim|strong="H6062". And|strong="H1419" the|strong="H6440" land|strong="H6440" had|strong="H8252" rest|strong="H8252" from|strong="H6440" war|strong="H4421".
15 Hebrom era chamada Quiriate-Arba, em homenagem a Arba, o maior dos enaquins. E a terra teve descanso da guerra.
