1 Finalmente, irmãos, pedimos e incentivamos em nome do Senhor Jesus que vivam para agradar a Deus, conforme lhes instruímos. Vocês já vivem desse modo, e os incentivamos a fazê-lo ainda mais,

3 A vontade de Deus é que vocês vivam em santidade; por isso, mantenham-se afastados de todo pecado sexual.

4 Cada um deve aprender a controlar o próprio corpo e assim viver em santidade e honra,
5 not|strong="G3361" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" passion|strong="G3806" of|strong="G2316" lust|strong="G1939", even|strong="G2532" as|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Gentiles|strong="G1484" which|strong="G3588" know|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3361" God|strong="G2316";
5 não em paixões sensuais, como os gentios que não conhecem a Deus.
6 that|strong="G3588" no|strong="G3361" man|strong="G3778" transgress|strong="G5233", and|strong="G2532" wrong his|strong="G3956" brother in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" matter|strong="G4229": because|strong="G1360" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962" is|strong="G3588" an|strong="G2532" avenger|strong="G1558" in|strong="G1722" all|strong="G3956" these|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3956", as|strong="G2531" also|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2532" forewarned you|strong="G5210" and|strong="G2532" testified|strong="G1263".
6 Nesse assunto, não prejudiquem nem enganem um irmão, pois o Senhor punirá todas essas práticas, como já os advertimos solenemente.
7 For|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316" called|strong="G2564" us|strong="G2249" not|strong="G3756" for|strong="G1063" uncleanness, but|strong="G1063" in|strong="G1722" sanctification.
7 Pois Deus nos chamou para uma vida santa, e não impura.
8 Therefore|strong="G5105" he|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" rejecteth, rejecteth not|strong="G3756" man|strong="G3756", but|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316", who|strong="G3588" giveth|strong="G1325" his|strong="G1519" Holy|strong="G4151" Spirit|strong="G4151" unto|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5210".
8 Portanto, quem se recusa a viver de acordo com essas regras não desobedece a ensinamentos humanos, mas rejeita a Deus, que lhes dá seu Espírito Santo.

9 Não precisamos lhes escrever sobre a importância do amor fraternal, pois o próprio Deus os ensinou a amarem uns aos outros.

But|strong="G1161" we|strong="G1063" exhort|strong="G3870" you|strong="G5210", brethren|strong="G3588", that|strong="G3588" ye|strong="G5210" abound|strong="G4052" more|strong="G3123" and|strong="G2532" more|strong="G3123";
10 De fato, vocês já demonstram amor por todos os irmãos em toda a Macedônia. Ainda assim, irmãos, pedimos que os amem ainda mais.

11 Tenham como objetivo uma vida tranquila, ocupando-se com seus próprios assuntos e trabalhando com suas próprias mãos, conforme os instruímos anteriormente.

12 Assim, os que são de fora respeitarão seu modo de viver, e vocês não terão de depender de outros.

13 Agora, irmãos, não queremos que ignorem o que acontecerá aos que já morreram, para que não se entristeçam como aqueles que não têm esperança.
14 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" we|strong="G3754" believe|strong="G4100" that|strong="G3754" Jesus|strong="G2424" died|strong="G2837" and|strong="G2532" rose|strong="G2532" again|strong="G2532", even|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" them|strong="G3588" also|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" are|strong="G3588" fallen|strong="G2837" asleep|strong="G2837" in|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" will|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316" bring|strong="G2532" with|strong="G4862" him|strong="G3588".
14 Porque cremos que Jesus morreu e foi ressuscitado, também cremos que Deus trará de volta à vida, com Jesus, todos os que morreram.

15 Dizemos a vocês, pela palavra do Senhor: nós, os que ainda estivermos vivos quando o Senhor voltar, não iremos ao encontro dele antes daqueles que já morreram.
16 For|strong="G3754" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962" himself shall|strong="G2532" descend|strong="G2597" from|strong="G2597" heaven|strong="G3772", with|strong="G1722" a|strong="G2532" shout|strong="G2752", with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" voice|strong="G5456" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G1722" archangel, and|strong="G2532" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" trump|strong="G4536" of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316": and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" dead|strong="G3498" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" shall|strong="G2532" rise first|strong="G4413":
16 Pois o Senhor mesmo descerá do céu com um brado de comando, com a voz do arcanjo e com o toque da trombeta de Deus. Primeiro, os mortos em Cristo ressuscitarão.
17 then|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" that|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" alive|strong="G2198", that|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" left, shall|strong="G2532" together|strong="G4862" with|strong="G1722" them|strong="G3588" be|strong="G1510" caught|strong="G2962" up|strong="G1519" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" clouds|strong="G3507", to|strong="G1519" meet|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" air: and|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" shall|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" ever|strong="G3842" be|strong="G1510" with|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" Lord|strong="G2962".
17 Depois, com eles, nós, os que ainda estivermos vivos, seremos arrebatados nas nuvens ao encontro do Senhor, nos ares. Então, estaremos com o Senhor para sempre.
18 Wherefore|strong="G5620" comfort|strong="G3870" one|strong="G3588" another|strong="G3588" with|strong="G1722" these|strong="G3778" words|strong="G3056".
