1 O filho sábio atende à instrução do pai; mas o escarnecedor não ouve a repreensão.
2 A man|strong="H0376" shall eat|strong="H0398" good|strong="H2896" by the fruit|strong="H6529" of his mouth|strong="H6310": but the soul|strong="H5315" of the transgressors|strong="H0898" shall eat violence|strong="H2555".
2 Do fruto da boca cada um comerá o bem, mas a alma dos prevaricadores comerá a violência.
3 He that keepeth|strong="H5341" his mouth|strong="H6310" keepeth|strong="H8104" his life|strong="H5315": but he that openeth wide|strong="H6589" his lips|strong="H8193" shall have destruction|strong="H4288".
3 O que guarda a sua boca conserva a sua alma, mas o que abre muito os seus lábios se destrói.
4 The soul|strong="H5315" of the sluggard|strong="H6102" desireth|strong="H0183", and hath nothing: but the soul|strong="H5315" of the diligent|strong="H2742" shall be made fat|strong="H1878".
4 A alma do preguiçoso deseja, e coisa nenhuma alcança, mas a alma dos diligentes se farta.
5 A righteous|strong="H6662" man hateth|strong="H8130" lying|strong="H1697": but a wicked|strong="H7563" man is loathsome|strong="H0887", and cometh to shame|strong="H2659".
5 O justo odeia a palavra de mentira, mas o ímpio faz vergonha e se confunde.
6 Righteousness|strong="H6666" keepeth|strong="H5341" him that is upright|strong="H8537" in the way|strong="H1870": but wickedness|strong="H7564" overthroweth|strong="H5557" the sinner|strong="H2403".
6 A justiça guarda ao que é de caminho certo, mas a impiedade transtornará o pecador.
7 There is|strong="H3426" that maketh himself rich|strong="H6238", yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor|strong="H7326", yet|strong="H3605" hath great|strong="H7227" riches|strong="H1952".

8 O resgate da vida de cada um são as suas riquezas, mas o pobre não ouve ameaças.
9 The light|strong="H0216" of the righteous|strong="H6662" rejoiceth|strong="H8055": but the lamp|strong="H5216" of the wicked|strong="H7563" shall be put out|strong="H1846".
9 A luz dos justos alegra, mas a candeia dos ímpios se apagará.
10 Only by pride|strong="H2087" cometh|strong="H5414" contention|strong="H4683": but with the well advised|strong="H3289" is wisdom|strong="H2451".
10 Da soberba só provém a contenda, mas com os que se aconselham se acha a sabedoria.
11 Wealth|strong="H1952" gotten by vanity|strong="H1892" shall be diminished|strong="H4591": but he that gathereth|strong="H6908" by labour|strong="H3027" shall increase|strong="H7235".
11 A riqueza de procedência vã diminuirá, mas quem a ajunta com o próprio trabalho a aumentará.
12 Hope|strong="H8431" deferred|strong="H4900" maketh the heart|strong="H3820" sick|strong="H2470": but when the desire|strong="H8378" cometh|strong="H0935", it is a tree|strong="H6086" of life|strong="H2416".
12 A esperança adiada desfalece o coração, mas o desejo atendido é árvore de vida.
13 Whoso despiseth|strong="H0936" the word|strong="H1697" shall be destroyed|strong="H2254": but he that feareth|strong="H3373" the commandment|strong="H4687" shall be rewarded|strong="H7999".
13 O que despreza a palavra perecerá, mas o que teme o mandamento será galardoado.
14 The law|strong="H8451" of the wise|strong="H2450" is a fountain|strong="H4726" of life|strong="H2416", to depart|strong="H5493" from the snares|strong="H4170" of death|strong="H4194".
14 A doutrina do sábio é uma fonte de vida para se desviar dos laços da morte.
15 Good|strong="H2896" understanding|strong="H7922" giveth|strong="H5414" favour|strong="H2580": but the way|strong="H1870" of transgressors|strong="H0898" is hard|strong="H0386".
15 O bom entendimento favorece, mas o caminho dos prevaricadores é áspero.
16 Every prudent|strong="H6175" man dealeth|strong="H6213" with knowledge|strong="H1847": but a fool|strong="H3684" layeth open|strong="H6566" his folly|strong="H0200".
16 Todo prudente procede com conhecimento, mas o insensato espraia a sua loucura.
17 A wicked|strong="H7563" messenger|strong="H4397" falleth|strong="H5307" into mischief|strong="H7451": but a faithful|strong="H0529" ambassador|strong="H6735" is health|strong="H4832".
17 O que prega a maldade cai no mal, mas o embaixador fiel é saúde.
18 Poverty|strong="H7389" and shame|strong="H7036" shall be to him that refuseth|strong="H6544" instruction|strong="H4148": but he that regardeth|strong="H8104" reproof|strong="H8433" shall be honoured|strong="H3513".
18 Pobreza e afronta virão ao que rejeita a instrução, mas o que guarda a repreensão será honrado.
19 The desire|strong="H8378" accomplished|strong="H1961" is sweet|strong="H6149" to the soul|strong="H5315": but it is abomination|strong="H8441" to fools|strong="H3684" to depart|strong="H5493" from evil|strong="H7451".
19 O desejo que se alcança deleita a alma, mas apartar-se do mal é abominável para os insensatos.
20 He that walketh|strong="H1980" with wise|strong="H2450" men shall be wise|strong="H2449": but a companion|strong="H7462" of fools|strong="H3684" shall be destroyed|strong="H7321".
20 O que anda com os sábios ficará sábio, mas o companheiro dos tolos será destruído.
21 Evil|strong="H7451" pursueth|strong="H7291" sinners|strong="H2400": but to the righteous|strong="H6662" good|strong="H2896" shall be repayed|strong="H7999".
21 O mal perseguirá os pecadores, mas os justos serão galardoados com o bem.
22 A good|strong="H2896" man leaveth an inheritance|strong="H5157" to his children’s|strong="H1121" children|strong="H1121": and the wealth|strong="H2428" of the sinner|strong="H2398" is laid up|strong="H6845" for the just|strong="H6662".
22 O homem de bem deixa uma herança aos filhos de seus filhos, mas a riqueza do pecador é depositada para o justo.

23 O pobre, do sulco da terra, tira mantimento em abundância; mas há os que se consomem por falta de juízo.

24 O que não faz uso da vara odeia seu filho, mas o que o ama, desde cedo o castiga.
25 The righteous|strong="H6662" eateth|strong="H0398" to the satisfying|strong="H7648" of his soul|strong="H5315": but the belly|strong="H0990" of the wicked|strong="H7563" shall want|strong="H2637".
25 O justo come até ficar satisfeito, mas o ventre dos ímpios passará necessidade.
