Israel|strong="H3478" is an empty|strong="H1238" vine|strong="H1612", he bringeth forth|strong="H7737" fruit|strong="H6529" unto himself: according to the multitude|strong="H7230" of his fruit|strong="H6529" he hath increased|strong="H7235" the altars|strong="H4196"; according to the goodness|strong="H2896" of his land|strong="H0776" they have made goodly|strong="H2895" images|strong="H4676".
Their heart|strong="H3820" is divided|strong="H2505"; now shall they be found faulty|strong="H0816": he shall break down|strong="H6202" their altars|strong="H4196", he shall spoil|strong="H7703" their images|strong="H4676".
For now they shall say|strong="H0559", We have no king|strong="H4428", because we feared|strong="H3372" not the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; what then should a king|strong="H4428" do|strong="H6213" to us?
They have spoken|strong="H1696" words|strong="H1697", swearing|strong="H0422" falsely|strong="H7723" in making|strong="H3772" a covenant|strong="H1285": thus judgment|strong="H4941" springeth up|strong="H6524" as hemlock|strong="H7219" in the furrows|strong="H8525" of the field|strong="H7704".
The inhabitants|strong="H7934" of Samaria|strong="H8111" shall fear|strong="H1481" because of the calves|strong="H5697" of Beth-aven|strong="H1007": for the people|strong="H5971" thereof shall mourn|strong="H0056" over it, and the priests|strong="H3649" thereof that rejoiced|strong="H1523" on it, for the glory|strong="H3519" thereof, because it is departed|strong="H1540" from it.
It shall be also carried|strong="H2986" unto Assyria|strong="H0804" for a present|strong="H4503" to king|strong="H4428" Jareb|strong="H3377": Ephraim|strong="H0669" shall receive|strong="H3947" shame|strong="H1317", and Israel|strong="H3478" shall be ashamed|strong="H0954" of his own counsel|strong="H6098".
As for Samaria|strong="H8111", her king|strong="H4428" is cut off|strong="H1820" as the foam|strong="H7110" upon|strong="H6440" the water|strong="H4325".
The high places|strong="H1116" also of Aven|strong="H0206", the sin|strong="H2403" of Israel|strong="H3478", shall be destroyed|strong="H8045": the thorn|strong="H6975" and the thistle|strong="H1863" shall come up|strong="H5927" on their altars|strong="H4196"; and they shall say|strong="H0559" to the mountains|strong="H2022", Cover|strong="H3680" us; and to the hills|strong="H1389", Fall|strong="H5307" on us.
O Israel|strong="H3478", thou hast sinned|strong="H2398" from the days|strong="H3117" of Gibeah|strong="H1390": there they stood|strong="H5975": the battle|strong="H4421" in Gibeah|strong="H1390" against the children|strong="H1121" of iniquity|strong="H5932" did not overtake|strong="H5381" them.
It is in my desire|strong="H0185" that I should chastise|strong="H3256" them; and the people|strong="H5971" shall be gathered|strong="H0622" against them, when they shall bind|strong="H0631" themselves in their two|strong="H8147" furrows|strong="H5869".
And Ephraim|strong="H0669" is as an heifer|strong="H5697" that is taught|strong="H3925", and loveth|strong="H0157" to tread out|strong="H1758" the corn; but I passed over|strong="H5674" upon her fair|strong="H2898" neck|strong="H6677": I will make Ephraim|strong="H0669" to ride|strong="H7392"; Judah|strong="H3063" shall plow|strong="H2790", and Jacob|strong="H3290" shall break his clods|strong="H7702".
Sow|strong="H2232" to yourselves in righteousness|strong="H6666", reap|strong="H7114" in|strong="H6310" mercy|strong="H2617"; break up|strong="H5214" your fallow ground|strong="H5215": for it is time|strong="H6256" to seek|strong="H1875" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, till he come|strong="H0935" and rain|strong="H3384" righteousness|strong="H6664" upon you.
Ye have plowed|strong="H2790" wickedness|strong="H7562", ye have reaped|strong="H7114" iniquity|strong="H5766"; ye have eaten|strong="H0398" the fruit|strong="H6529" of lies|strong="H3585": because thou didst trust|strong="H0982" in thy way|strong="H1870", in the multitude|strong="H7230" of thy mighty men|strong="H1368".
Therefore shall a tumult|strong="H7588" arise|strong="H6965" among thy people|strong="H5971", and all thy fortresses|strong="H4013" shall be spoiled|strong="H7703", as Shalman|strong="H8020" spoiled|strong="H7701" Beth-arbel|strong="H1009" in the day|strong="H3117" of battle|strong="H4421": the mother|strong="H0517" was dashed in pieces|strong="H7376" upon her children|strong="H1121".
So|strong="H3602" shall Beth-el|strong="H1008" do|strong="H6213" unto you because|strong="H6440" of your great|strong="H7451" wickedness|strong="H7451": in a morning|strong="H7837" shall the king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" utterly|strong="H1820" be cut off|strong="H1820".
