1 Tendo todo o povo atravessado o Jordão, o Senhor disse a Josué:
2 Take|strong="H3947" you twelve|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582" out of the people|strong="H5971", out of every|strong="H0259" tribe|strong="H7626" a man|strong="H0376",
2 Escolhei doze homens dentre o povo, um por tribo, e ordenai-lhes:
3 And command|strong="H6680" ye them, saying|strong="H0559", Take|strong="H5375" you hence out of the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", out of the place where the priests’|strong="H3548" feet|strong="H7272" stood|strong="H4673" firm|strong="H3559", twelve|strong="H8147" stones|strong="H0068", and ye shall carry them over|strong="H5674" with you, and leave|strong="H3240" them in the lodging place|strong="H4411", where ye shall lodge|strong="H3885" this night|strong="H3915".
3 tomai daqui, do meio do Jordão, deste lugar onde os pés dos sacerdotes estiveram parados, doze pedras que levareis convosco e as colocareis no lugar onde haveis de passar a noite.
4 Then Joshua|strong="H3091" called|strong="H7121" the twelve|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0376", whom he had prepared|strong="H3559" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", out of every|strong="H0259" tribe|strong="H7626" a man|strong="H0376":
4 Josué convocou os doze homens escolhidos, um por tribo, entre os filhos de Israel.
5 And Joshua|strong="H3091" said|strong="H0559" unto them, Pass over|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" into the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", and take ye up|strong="H7311" every|strong="H0259" man|strong="H0376" of you a stone|strong="H0068" upon his shoulder|strong="H7926", according unto the number|strong="H4557" of the tribes|strong="H7626" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478":
5 E disse-lhes: Ide adiante da arca do Senhor, vosso Deus, no meio do Jordão, e cada um de vós, segundo o número das tribos de Israel, carregue uma pedra no seu ombro.
6 That this may be a sign|strong="H0226" among|strong="H7130" you, that when your children|strong="H1121" ask|strong="H7592" their fathers in time to come|strong="H4279", saying|strong="H0559", What mean ye by these stones|strong="H0068"?
6 Isso ficará como um memorial entre vós. Quando vossos filhos vos perguntarem um dia: que significam essas pedras?
7 Then ye shall answer|strong="H0559" them, That the waters|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383" were cut off|strong="H3772" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; when it passed over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383", the waters|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383" were cut off|strong="H3772": and these stones|strong="H0068" shall be for a memorial|strong="H2146" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769".
7 Responder-lhes-eis: as águas do Jordão foram cortadas diante da arca da aliança do Senhor; quando ela atravessou o Jordão, as águas foram cortadas, e essas pedras são para os israelitas um monumento eterno em memória desse acontecimento.
8 And the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" did|strong="H6213" so as Joshua|strong="H3091" commanded|strong="H6680", and took up|strong="H5375" twelve|strong="H8147" stones|strong="H0068" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" unto Joshua|strong="H3091", according to the number|strong="H4557" of the tribes|strong="H7626" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", and carried them over|strong="H5674" with them unto the place where they lodged|strong="H4411", and laid them down|strong="H3240" there.
8 Fizeram os filhos de Israel como Josué lhes tinha ordenado: tomaram do meio do leito do Jordão doze pedras, como o Senhor tinha dito a Josué, segundo o número das tribos de Israel. Levaram-nas consigo e depositaram-nas no. lugar onde deviam acampar.
9 And Joshua|strong="H3091" set up|strong="H6965" twelve|strong="H8147" stones|strong="H0068" in the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", in the place where the feet|strong="H7272" of the priests|strong="H3548" which bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" stood|strong="H4673": and they are there unto this day|strong="H3117".
9 Pôs também Josué outras doze pedras no leito do Jordão, no lugar onde estiveram parados os pés dos sacerdotes que levavam a arca da aliança. E elas estão ali ainda hoje.
10 For the priests|strong="H3548" which bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" stood|strong="H5975" in the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", until every thing|strong="H1697" was finished|strong="H8552" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* commanded|strong="H6680" Joshua|strong="H3091" to speak|strong="H1696" unto the people|strong="H5971", according to all that Moses|strong="H4872" commanded|strong="H6680" Joshua|strong="H3091": and the people|strong="H5971" hasted|strong="H4116" and passed over|strong="H5674".
10 Os sacerdotes que levavam a arca permaneceram de pé no meio do leito do Jordão até que se cumpriu tudo o que o Senhor tinha ordenado que Josué dissesse ao povo, segundo as ordens que lhe dera Moisés. O povo apressou-se em atravessar o rio.
11 And it came to pass, when all the people|strong="H5971" were clean|strong="H8552" passed over|strong="H5674", that the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* passed over|strong="H5674", and the priests|strong="H3548", in the presence|strong="H6440" of the people|strong="H5971".
11 Logo que todos passaram, a arca do Senhor e os sacerdotes puseram-se de novo à frente do povo.
12 And the children|strong="H1121" of Reuben|strong="H7205", and the children|strong="H1121" of Gad|strong="H1410", and half|strong="H2677" the tribe|strong="H7626" of Manasseh|strong="H4519", passed over|strong="H5674" armed|strong="H2571" before|strong="H6440" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", as Moses|strong="H4872" spake|strong="H1696" unto them:
12 Os rubenitas, os gaditas e a meia tribo de Manassés tinham passado o rio armados, diante dos israelitas, segundo a ordem de Moisés.
13 About forty|strong="H0705" thousand|strong="H0505" prepared|strong="H2502" for war|strong="H6635" passed over|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* unto battle|strong="H4421", to the plains|strong="H6160" of Jericho|strong="H3405".
13 Em número de aproximadamente quarenta mil homens, equipados para o combate, desfilaram diante do Senhor, rumo à planície de Jericó.
14 On that day|strong="H3117" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* magnified|strong="H1431" Joshua|strong="H3091" in the sight|strong="H5869" of all Israel|strong="H3478"; and they feared|strong="H3372" him, as they feared|strong="H3372" Moses|strong="H4872", all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416".
14 Naquele dia o Senhor exaltou Josué aos olhos de todo o Israel. E todos tiveram para com ele o mesmo respeito que por Moisés, durante toda a sua vida.
15 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H0559" unto Joshua|strong="H3091", saying|strong="H0559",
15 O Senhor disse a Josué:
16 Command|strong="H6680" the priests|strong="H3548" that bear|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the testimony|strong="H5715", that they come up|strong="H5927" out of Jordan|strong="H3383".
16 Ordena aos sacerdotes, que levam a arca do testemunho, que saiam do Jordão.
17 Joshua|strong="H3091" therefore commanded|strong="H6680" the priests|strong="H3548", saying|strong="H0559", Come ye up|strong="H5927" out of Jordan|strong="H3383".
17 Josué ordenou-lhes: Saí do Jordão.
18 And it came to pass, when the priests|strong="H3548" that bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* were come up|strong="H5927" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", and the soles|strong="H3709" of the priests’|strong="H3548" feet|strong="H7272" were lifted up|strong="H5423" unto the dry land|strong="H2724", that the waters|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383" returned|strong="H7725" unto their place|strong="H4725", and flowed|strong="H3212" over all his banks|strong="H1415", as|strong="H8543" they did before|strong="H8032".
18 E os sacerdotes, que levavam a arca da aliança do Senhor, tendo deixado o leito do rio, ao pisarem seus pés a terra firme, as águas do Jordão retomaram seu lugar e correram caudalosas como antes.
19 And the people|strong="H5971" came up|strong="H5927" out of Jordan|strong="H3383" on the tenth|strong="H6218" day of the first|strong="H7223" month|strong="H2320", and encamped|strong="H2583" in Gilgal|strong="H1537", in the east|strong="H4217" border|strong="H7097" of Jericho|strong="H3405".
19 Ora, o povo saiu do Jordão no décimo dia do primeiro mês, e acampou em Gálgala, na extremidade oriental de Jericó.
20 And those twelve|strong="H8147" stones|strong="H0068", which they took out|strong="H3947" of Jordan|strong="H3383", did Joshua|strong="H3091" pitch|strong="H6965" in Gilgal|strong="H1537".
20 Josué levantou ali as doze pedras tomadas do Jordão.
21 And he spake|strong="H0559" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", saying|strong="H0559", When your children|strong="H1121" shall ask|strong="H7592" their fathers|strong="H0001" in time to come|strong="H4279", saying|strong="H0559", What mean these stones|strong="H0068"?
21 E disse aos filhos de Israel: Quando vossos filhos perguntarem um dia a seus pais: que significam essas pedras?
22 Then ye shall let your children|strong="H1121" know|strong="H3045", saying|strong="H0559", Israel|strong="H3478" came over|strong="H5674" this Jordan|strong="H3383" on dry land|strong="H3004".
22 Responder-lhes-eis nestes termos: Israel atravessou o Jordão a pé enxuto,
23 For the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" dried up|strong="H3001" the waters|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383" from before|strong="H6440" you, until ye were passed over|strong="H5674", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" did|strong="H6213" to the Red|strong="H5488" sea|strong="H3220", which he dried up|strong="H3001" from before|strong="H6440" us, until we were gone over|strong="H5674":
23 porque o Senhor, vosso Deus, secou diante de vós o leito do Jordão, até que passásseis, do mesmo modo que antes tinha feito ao mar Vermelho, o qual secou diante de nós até que passássemos.
24 That all the people|strong="H5971" of the earth|strong="H0776" might know|strong="H3045" the hand|strong="H3027" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that it is mighty|strong="H2389": that ye might fear|strong="H3372" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430" for ever|strong="H3117".
24 Isto, para que todos os povos da terra saibam que a mão do Senhor é poderosa, e para que conserveis sempre o temor do Senhor, vosso Deus.
