1 In the beginning|strong="H7225" of the reign|strong="H4467" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" came this word|strong="H1697" unto Jeremiah|strong="H3414" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, saying|strong="H0559",
2 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to me; Make|strong="H6213" thee bonds|strong="H4147" and yokes|strong="H4133", and put|strong="H5414" them upon thy neck|strong="H6677",
3 And send|strong="H7971" them to the king|strong="H4428" of Edom|strong="H0123", and to the king|strong="H4428" of Moab|strong="H4124", and to the king|strong="H4428" of the Ammonites|strong="H1121", and to the king|strong="H4428" of Tyrus|strong="H6865", and to the king|strong="H4428" of Zidon|strong="H6721", by the hand|strong="H3027" of the messengers|strong="H4397" which come|strong="H0935" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389" unto Zedekiah|strong="H6667" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063";
4 And command|strong="H6680" them to say|strong="H0559" unto their masters|strong="H0113", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Thus shall ye say|strong="H0559" unto your masters|strong="H0113";
5 I have made|strong="H6213" the earth|strong="H0776", the man|strong="H0120" and the beast|strong="H0929" that are upon|strong="H6440" the ground|strong="H0776", by my great|strong="H1419" power|strong="H3581" and by my outstretched|strong="H5186" arm|strong="H2220", and have given|strong="H5414" it unto whom it seemed|strong="H5869" meet|strong="H3474" unto me.
6 And now have I given|strong="H5414" all these lands|strong="H0776" into the hand|strong="H3027" of Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", my servant|strong="H5650"; and the beasts|strong="H2416" of the field|strong="H7704" have I given|strong="H5414" him also to serve|strong="H5647" him.
7 And all nations|strong="H1471" shall serve|strong="H5647" him, and his son|strong="H1121", and his son’s|strong="H1121" son|strong="H1121", until the very time|strong="H6256" of his land|strong="H0776" come|strong="H0935": and then many|strong="H7227" nations|strong="H1471" and great|strong="H1419" kings|strong="H4428" shall serve|strong="H5647" themselves of him.
8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation|strong="H1471" and kingdom|strong="H4467" which will not serve|strong="H5647" the same Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and that will not put|strong="H5414" their neck|strong="H6677" under the yoke|strong="H5923" of the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", that nation|strong="H1471" will I punish|strong="H6485", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, with the sword|strong="H2719", and with the famine|strong="H7458", and with the pestilence|strong="H1698", until I have consumed|strong="H8552" them by his hand|strong="H3027".
9 Therefore hearken|strong="H8085" not ye to your prophets|strong="H5030", nor to your diviners|strong="H7080", nor to your dreamers|strong="H2472", nor to your enchanters|strong="H6049", nor to your sorcerers|strong="H3786", which speak|strong="H0559" unto you, saying|strong="H0559", Ye shall not serve|strong="H5647" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894":
10 For they prophesy|strong="H5012" a lie|strong="H8267" unto you, to remove you far|strong="H7368" from your land|strong="H0127"; and that I should drive you out|strong="H5080", and ye should perish|strong="H0006".
11 But the nations|strong="H1471" that bring|strong="H0935" their neck|strong="H6677" under the yoke|strong="H5923" of the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and serve|strong="H5647" him, those will I let remain still|strong="H3240" in their own land|strong="H0127", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; and they shall till|strong="H5647" it, and dwell|strong="H3427" therein.
12 I spake|strong="H1696" also to Zedekiah|strong="H6667" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" according to all these words|strong="H1697", saying|strong="H0559", Bring|strong="H0935" your necks|strong="H6677" under the yoke|strong="H5923" of the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and serve|strong="H5647" him and his people|strong="H5971", and live|strong="H2421".
13 Why will ye die|strong="H4191", thou and thy people|strong="H5971", by the sword|strong="H2719", by the famine|strong="H7458", and by the pestilence|strong="H1698", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696" against the nation|strong="H1471" that will not serve|strong="H5647" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894"?
14 Therefore hearken|strong="H8085" not unto the words|strong="H1697" of the prophets|strong="H5030" that speak|strong="H0559" unto you, saying|strong="H0559", Ye shall not serve|strong="H5647" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894": for they prophesy|strong="H5012" a lie|strong="H8267" unto you.
15 For I have not sent|strong="H7971" them, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, yet they prophesy|strong="H5012" a lie|strong="H8267" in my name|strong="H8034"; that I might drive you out|strong="H5080", and that ye might perish|strong="H0006", ye, and the prophets|strong="H5030" that prophesy|strong="H5012" unto you.
16 Also I spake|strong="H1696" to the priests|strong="H3548" and to all this people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; Hearken|strong="H8085" not to the words|strong="H1697" of your prophets|strong="H5030" that prophesy|strong="H5012" unto you, saying|strong="H0559", Behold, the vessels|strong="H3627" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* house|strong="H1004" shall now shortly|strong="H4120" be brought again|strong="H7725" from Babylon|strong="H0894": for they prophesy|strong="H5012" a lie|strong="H8267" unto you.
17 Hearken|strong="H8085" not unto them; serve|strong="H5647" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and live|strong="H2421": wherefore should this city|strong="H5892" be laid waste|strong="H2723"?
18 But if they be prophets|strong="H5030", and if the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* be|strong="H3426" with them, let them now make intercession|strong="H6293" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", that the vessels|strong="H3627" which are left|strong="H3498" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and in the house|strong="H1004" of the king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and at Jerusalem|strong="H3389", go|strong="H0935" not to Babylon|strong="H0894".
19 For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" concerning the pillars|strong="H5982", and concerning the sea|strong="H3220", and concerning the bases|strong="H4350", and concerning the residue|strong="H3499" of the vessels|strong="H3627" that remain|strong="H3498" in this city|strong="H5892",
20 Which Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" took|strong="H3947" not, when he carried away captive|strong="H1540" Jeconiah|strong="H3204" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" from Jerusalem|strong="H3389" to Babylon|strong="H0894", and all the nobles|strong="H2715" of Judah|strong="H3063" and Jerusalem|strong="H3389";
21 Yea, thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", concerning the vessels|strong="H3627" that remain|strong="H3498" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and in the house|strong="H1004" of the king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" and of Jerusalem|strong="H3389";
22 They shall be carried|strong="H0935" to Babylon|strong="H0894", and there shall they be until the day|strong="H3117" that I visit|strong="H6485" them, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; then will I bring|strong="H5927" them up, and restore|strong="H7725" them to this place|strong="H4725".
