1 Jó, porém, respondeu:
2 How hast thou helped|strong="H5826" him that is without power|strong="H3581"? how savest|strong="H3467" thou the arm|strong="H2220" that hath no|strong="H3808" strength|strong="H5797"?
2 Como sabes ajudar ao que não tem força e prestar socorro ao braço que não tem vigor!
3 How hast thou counselled|strong="H3289" him that hath no|strong="H3808" wisdom|strong="H2451"? and how hast thou plentifully|strong="H7230" declared|strong="H3045" the thing as it is|strong="H8454"?
3 Como sabes aconselhar ao que não tem sabedoria e revelar plenitude de verdadeiro conhecimento!
4 To whom hast thou uttered|strong="H5046" words|strong="H4405"? and whose spirit|strong="H5397" came|strong="H3318" from thee?
4 Com a ajuda de quem proferes tais palavras? E de quem é o espírito que fala em ti?
5 Dead|strong="H7496" things are formed|strong="H2342" from under the waters|strong="H4325", and the inhabitants|strong="H7931" thereof.
5 A alma dos mortos treme debaixo das águas com seus habitantes.
6 Hell|strong="H7585" is naked|strong="H6174" before him, and destruction|strong="H0011" hath no covering|strong="H3682".
6 O além está desnudo perante ele, e não há coberta para o abismo.
7 He stretcheth out|strong="H5186" the north|strong="H6828" over the empty place|strong="H8414", and hangeth|strong="H8518" the earth|strong="H0776" upon nothing|strong="H1099".
7 Ele estende o norte sobre o vazio e faz pairar a terra sobre o nada.
8 He bindeth up|strong="H6887" the waters|strong="H4325" in his thick clouds|strong="H5645"; and the cloud|strong="H6051" is not rent|strong="H1234" under them.
8 Prende as águas em densas nuvens, e as nuvens não se rasgam debaixo delas.
9 He holdeth back|strong="H0270" the face|strong="H6440" of his throne|strong="H3678", and spreadeth|strong="H6576" his cloud|strong="H6051" upon it.
9 Encobre a face do seu trono e sobre ele estende a sua nuvem.
10 He hath compassed|strong="H2328" the waters|strong="H6440" with bounds|strong="H2706", until the day|strong="H0216" and night|strong="H2822" come to an end|strong="H8503".
10 Traçou um círculo à superfície das águas, até aos confins da luz e das trevas.
11 The pillars|strong="H5982" of heaven|strong="H8064" tremble|strong="H7322" and are astonished|strong="H8539" at his reproof|strong="H1606".
11 As colunas do céu tremem e se espantam da sua ameaça.
12 He divideth|strong="H7280" the sea|strong="H3220" with his power|strong="H3581", and by his understanding|strong="H8394" he smiteth|strong="H4272" through the proud|strong="H7293".
12 Com a sua força fende o mar e com o seu entendimento abate o adversário.
13 By his spirit|strong="H7307" he hath garnished|strong="H8235" the heavens|strong="H8064"; his hand|strong="H3027" hath formed|strong="H2342" the crooked|strong="H1281" serpent|strong="H5175".
13 Pelo seu sopro aclara os céus, a sua mão fere o dragão veloz.
14 Lo, these are parts|strong="H7098" of his ways|strong="H1870": but how little|strong="H8102" a portion|strong="H1697" is heard|strong="H8085" of him? but the thunder|strong="H7482" of his power|strong="H1369" who can understand|strong="H0995"?
14 Eis que isto são apenas as orlas dos seus caminhos! Que leve sussurro temos ouvido dele! Mas o trovão do seu poder, quem o entenderá?
