1 The words|strong="H1697" of the Preacher|strong="H6953", the son|strong="H1121" of David|strong="H1732", king|strong="H4428" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
1 Palavras do pregador, filho de Davi, rei em Jerusalém.
2 Vanity|strong="H1892" of vanities|strong="H1892", saith|strong="H0559" the Preacher|strong="H6953", vanity|strong="H1892" of vanities|strong="H1892"; all is vanity|strong="H1892".
2 Vaidade de vaidades, diz o pregador; vaidade de vaidades, tudo é vaidade.
3 What profit|strong="H3504" hath a man|strong="H0120" of all his labour|strong="H5999" which he taketh|strong="H5998" under the sun|strong="H8121"?
3 Que proveito tem o homem, de todo o seu trabalho, com que se afadiga debaixo do sol?
4 One generation|strong="H1755" passeth away|strong="H1980", and another generation|strong="H1755" cometh|strong="H0935": but the earth|strong="H0776" abideth|strong="H5975" for ever|strong="H5769".
4 Uma geração vai-se, e outra geração vem, mas a terra permanece para sempre.
5 The sun|strong="H8121" also ariseth|strong="H2224", and the sun|strong="H8121" goeth down|strong="H0935", and hasteth|strong="H7602" to his place|strong="H4725" where he arose|strong="H2224".
5 O sol nasce, e o sol se põe, e corre de volta ao seu lugar donde nasce.
6 The wind|strong="H7307" goeth|strong="H1980" toward the south|strong="H1864", and turneth about|strong="H5437" unto the north|strong="H6828"; it whirleth about continually|strong="H1980", and the wind|strong="H7307" returneth again|strong="H7725" according to his circuits|strong="H5439".
6 O vento vai para o sul, e faz o seu giro vai para o norte; volve-se e revolve-se na sua carreira, e retoma os seus circuitos.
7 All the rivers|strong="H5158" run|strong="H1980" into the sea|strong="H3220"; yet the sea|strong="H3220" is not full|strong="H4392"; unto the place|strong="H4725" from whence the rivers|strong="H5158" come|strong="H1980", thither they return|strong="H7725" again|strong="H3212".
7 Todos os ribeiros vão para o mar, e contudo o mar não se enche; ao lugar para onde os rios correm, para ali continuam a correr.
8 All things|strong="H1697" are full of labour|strong="H3023"; man|strong="H0376" cannot|strong="H3201" utter|strong="H1696" it: the eye|strong="H5869" is not satisfied|strong="H7646" with seeing|strong="H7200", nor the ear|strong="H0241" filled|strong="H4390" with hearing|strong="H8085".
8 Todas as coisas estão cheias de cansaço; ninguém o pode exprimir: os olhos não se fartam de ver, nem os ouvidos se enchem de ouvir.
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done|strong="H6213" is that which shall be done|strong="H6213": and there is no new|strong="H2319" thing under the sun|strong="H8121".
9 O que tem sido, isso é o que há de ser; e o que se tem feito, isso se tornará a fazer; nada há que seja novo debaixo do sol.
10 Is there|strong="H3426" any thing|strong="H1697" whereof it may be said|strong="H0559", See|strong="H7200", this is new|strong="H2319"? it hath been already|strong="H3528" of old time|strong="H5769", which was before|strong="H6440" us.
10 Há alguma coisa de que se possa dizer: Voê, isto é novo? ela já existiu nos séculos que foram antes de nós.
11 There is no remembrance|strong="H2146" of former|strong="H7223" things; neither shall there be any remembrance|strong="H2146" of things that are to come|strong="H0314" with those that shall come after|strong="H0314".
11 Já não há lembrança das gerações passadas; nem das gerações futuras haverá lembrança entre os que virão depois delas.
12 I the Preacher|strong="H6953" was king|strong="H4428" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
12 Eu, o pregador, fui rei sobre Israel em Jerusalém.
13 And I gave|strong="H5414" my heart|strong="H3820" to seek|strong="H1875" and search out|strong="H8446" by wisdom|strong="H2451" concerning all things that are done|strong="H6213" under heaven|strong="H8064": this sore|strong="H7451" travail|strong="H6045" hath God|strong="H0430" given|strong="H5414" to the sons|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120" to be exercised|strong="H6031" therewith.
13 E apliquei o meu coração a inquirir e a investigar com sabedoria a respeito de tudo quanto se faz debaixo do céu; essa enfadonha ocupação deu Deus aos filhos dos homens para nela se exercitarem.
14 I have seen|strong="H7200" all the works|strong="H4639" that are done|strong="H6213" under the sun|strong="H8121"; and, behold, all is vanity|strong="H1892" and vexation|strong="H7469" of spirit|strong="H7307".
14 Atentei para todas as obras que se e fazem debaixo do sol; e eis que tudo era vaidade e desejo vão.
15 That which is crooked|strong="H5791" cannot|strong="H3201" be made straight|strong="H8626": and that which is wanting|strong="H2642" cannot|strong="H3201" be numbered|strong="H4487".
15 O que é torto não se pode endireitar; o que falta não se pode enumerar.
16 I communed|strong="H1696" with mine own heart|strong="H3820", saying|strong="H0559", Lo, I am come to great estate|strong="H1431", and have gotten|strong="H3254" more wisdom|strong="H2451" than all they that have been before|strong="H6440" me in Jerusalem|strong="H3389": yea, my heart|strong="H3820" had great|strong="H7235" experience|strong="H7200" of wisdom|strong="H2451" and knowledge|strong="H1847".
16 Falei comigo mesmo, dizendo: Eis que eu me engrandeci, e sobrepujei em sabedoria a todos os que houve antes de mim em Jerusalém; na verdade, tenho tido larga experiência da sabedoria e do conhecimento.
17 And I gave|strong="H5414" my heart|strong="H3820" to know|strong="H3045" wisdom|strong="H2451", and to know|strong="H3045" madness|strong="H1947" and folly|strong="H5531": I perceived|strong="H3045" that this|strong="H1571" also is vexation|strong="H7475" of spirit|strong="H7307".
17 E apliquei o coração a conhecer a sabedoria e a conhecer os desvarios e as loucuras; e vim a saber que também isso era desejo vão.
18 For in much|strong="H7230" wisdom|strong="H2451" is much|strong="H7230" grief|strong="H3708": and he that increaseth|strong="H3254" knowledge|strong="H1847" increaseth|strong="H3254" sorrow|strong="H4341".
18 Porque na muita sabedoria há muito enfado; e o que aumenta o conhecimento aumenta a tristeza.
