1 Hear|strong="H8085", O Israel|strong="H3478": Thou art to pass over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383" this day|strong="H3117", to go in|strong="H0935" to possess|strong="H3423" nations|strong="H1471" greater|strong="H1419" and mightier|strong="H6099" than thyself, cities|strong="H5892" great|strong="H1419" and fenced up|strong="H1219" to heaven|strong="H8064",
2 A people|strong="H5971" great|strong="H1419" and tall|strong="H7311", the children|strong="H1121" of the Anakims|strong="H6062", whom thou knowest|strong="H3045", and of whom thou hast heard|strong="H8085" say, Who can stand|strong="H3320" before|strong="H6440" the children|strong="H1121" of Anak|strong="H6061"!
3 Understand|strong="H3045" therefore this day|strong="H3117", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" is he which goeth over|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" thee; as a consuming|strong="H0398" fire|strong="H0784" he shall destroy|strong="H8045" them, and he shall bring them down|strong="H3665" before thy face|strong="H6440": so shalt thou drive them out|strong="H3423", and destroy|strong="H0006" them quickly|strong="H4118", as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath said|strong="H1696" unto thee.
4 Speak|strong="H0559" not thou in thine heart|strong="H3824", after that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" hath cast them out|strong="H1920" from before|strong="H6440" thee, saying|strong="H0559", For my righteousness|strong="H6666" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath brought me in|strong="H0935" to possess|strong="H3423" this land|strong="H0776": but for the wickedness|strong="H7564" of these nations|strong="H1471" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* doth drive them out|strong="H3423" from before|strong="H6440" thee.
5 Not for thy righteousness|strong="H6666", or for the uprightness|strong="H3476" of thine heart|strong="H3824", dost thou go|strong="H0935" to possess|strong="H3423" their land|strong="H0776": but for the wickedness|strong="H7564" of these nations|strong="H1471" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" doth drive them out|strong="H3423" from before|strong="H6440" thee, and that he may perform|strong="H6965" the word|strong="H1697" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* sware|strong="H7650" unto thy fathers|strong="H0001", Abraham|strong="H0085", Isaac|strong="H3327", and Jacob|strong="H3290".
6 Understand|strong="H3045" therefore, that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" giveth|strong="H5414" thee not this good|strong="H2896" land|strong="H0776" to possess|strong="H3423" it for thy righteousness|strong="H6666"; for thou art a stiffnecked|strong="H6203" people|strong="H5971".
7 Remember|strong="H2142", and forget|strong="H7911" not, how thou provokedst the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" to wrath|strong="H7107" in the wilderness|strong="H4057": from|strong="H4480" the day|strong="H3117" that thou didst depart out|strong="H3318" of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", until ye came|strong="H0935" unto this place|strong="H4725", ye have been rebellious|strong="H4784" against|strong="H5973" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
8 Also in Horeb|strong="H2722" ye provoked|strong="H7107" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to wrath|strong="H7107", so that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was angry|strong="H0599" with you to have destroyed|strong="H8045" you.
9 When I was gone up|strong="H5927" into the mount|strong="H2022" to receive|strong="H3947" the tables|strong="H3871" of stone|strong="H0068", even the tables|strong="H3871" of the covenant|strong="H1285" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* made|strong="H3772" with you, then I abode|strong="H3427" in the mount|strong="H2022" forty|strong="H0705" days|strong="H3117" and forty|strong="H0705" nights|strong="H3915", I neither did eat|strong="H0398" bread|strong="H3899" nor drink|strong="H8354" water|strong="H4325":
10 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* delivered|strong="H5414" unto me two|strong="H8147" tables|strong="H3871" of stone|strong="H0068" written|strong="H3789" with the finger|strong="H0676" of God|strong="H0430"; and on them was written according to all the words|strong="H1697", which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" with you in the mount|strong="H2022" out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784" in the day|strong="H3117" of the assembly|strong="H6951".
11 And it came to pass at the end|strong="H7093" of forty|strong="H0705" days|strong="H3117" and forty|strong="H0705" nights|strong="H3915", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* gave|strong="H5414" me the two|strong="H8147" tables|strong="H3871" of stone|strong="H0068", even the tables|strong="H3871" of the covenant|strong="H1285".
12 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, Arise|strong="H6965", get thee down|strong="H3381" quickly|strong="H4118" from hence; for thy people|strong="H5971" which thou hast brought forth|strong="H3318" out of Egypt|strong="H4714" have corrupted|strong="H7843" themselves; they are quickly|strong="H4118" turned aside|strong="H5493" out of the way|strong="H1870" which I commanded|strong="H6680" them; they have made|strong="H6213" them a molten image|strong="H4541".
13 Furthermore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H0559" unto me, saying|strong="H0559", I have seen|strong="H7200" this people|strong="H5971", and, behold, it is a stiffnecked|strong="H6203" people|strong="H5971":
14 Let me alone|strong="H7503", that I may destroy|strong="H8045" them, and blot out|strong="H4229" their name|strong="H8034" from under heaven|strong="H8064": and I will make|strong="H6213" of|strong="H0854" thee a nation|strong="H1471" mightier|strong="H6099" and greater|strong="H7227" than they.
15 So I turned|strong="H6437" and came down|strong="H3381" from the mount|strong="H2022", and the mount|strong="H2022" burned|strong="H1197" with fire|strong="H0784": and the two|strong="H8147" tables|strong="H3871" of the covenant|strong="H1285" were in my two|strong="H8147" hands|strong="H3027".
16 And I looked|strong="H7200", and, behold, ye had sinned|strong="H2398" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", and had made|strong="H6213" you a molten|strong="H4541" calf|strong="H5695": ye had turned aside|strong="H5493" quickly|strong="H4118" out of the way|strong="H1870" which the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had commanded|strong="H6680" you.
17 And I took|strong="H8610" the two|strong="H8147" tables|strong="H3871", and cast|strong="H7993" them out of|strong="H5921" my two|strong="H8147" hands|strong="H3027", and brake|strong="H7665" them before your eyes|strong="H5869".
18 And I fell down|strong="H5307" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, as at the first|strong="H7223", forty|strong="H0705" days|strong="H3117" and forty|strong="H0705" nights|strong="H3915": I did neither eat|strong="H0398" bread|strong="H3899", nor drink|strong="H8354" water|strong="H4325", because of all your sins|strong="H2403" which ye sinned|strong="H2398", in doing|strong="H6213" wickedly|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, to provoke him to anger|strong="H3707".
19 For I was afraid|strong="H3025" of|strong="H6440" the anger|strong="H0639" and hot displeasure|strong="H2534", wherewith the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was wroth|strong="H7107" against you to destroy|strong="H8045" you. But the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hearkened|strong="H8085" unto me at that time|strong="H6471" also.
20 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was very|strong="H3966" angry|strong="H0599" with Aaron|strong="H0175" to have destroyed|strong="H8045" him: and I prayed|strong="H6419" for Aaron|strong="H0175" also the same time|strong="H6256".
21 And I took|strong="H3947" your sin|strong="H2403", the calf|strong="H5695" which ye had made|strong="H6213", and burnt|strong="H8313" it with fire|strong="H0784", and stamped|strong="H3807" it, and ground|strong="H2912" it very small|strong="H3190", even until it was as small|strong="H1854" as dust|strong="H6083": and I cast|strong="H7993" the dust|strong="H6083" thereof into the brook|strong="H5158" that descended out|strong="H3381" of the mount|strong="H2022".
22 And at Taberah|strong="H8404", and at Massah|strong="H4532", and at Kibroth-hattaavah|strong="H6914", ye provoked the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to wrath|strong="H7107".
23 Likewise when the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* sent|strong="H7971" you from Kadesh-barnea|strong="H6947", saying|strong="H0559", Go up|strong="H5927" and possess|strong="H3423" the land|strong="H0776" which I have given|strong="H5414" you; then ye rebelled|strong="H4784" against the commandment|strong="H6310" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", and ye believed|strong="H0539" him not, nor hearkened|strong="H8085" to his voice|strong="H6963".
24 Ye have been rebellious|strong="H4784" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* from the day|strong="H3117" that I knew|strong="H3045" you.
25 Thus I fell down|strong="H5307" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* forty|strong="H0705" days|strong="H3117" and forty|strong="H0705" nights|strong="H3915", as I fell down|strong="H5307" at the first; because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had said|strong="H0559" he would destroy|strong="H8045" you.
26 I prayed|strong="H6419" therefore unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and said|strong="H0559", O Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, destroy|strong="H7843" not thy people|strong="H5971" and thine inheritance|strong="H5159", which thou hast redeemed|strong="H6299" through thy greatness|strong="H1433", which thou hast brought forth|strong="H3318" out of Egypt|strong="H4714" with a mighty|strong="H2389" hand|strong="H3027".
27 Remember|strong="H2142" thy servants|strong="H5650", Abraham|strong="H0085", Isaac|strong="H3327", and Jacob|strong="H3290"; look|strong="H6437" not unto the stubbornness|strong="H7190" of this people|strong="H5971", nor to their wickedness|strong="H7562", nor to their sin|strong="H2403":
28 Lest the land|strong="H0776" whence thou broughtest us out|strong="H3318" say|strong="H0559", Because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was not able|strong="H3201" to bring|strong="H0935" them into the land|strong="H0776" which he promised|strong="H1696" them, and because he hated|strong="H8135" them, he hath brought them out|strong="H3318" to slay|strong="H4191" them in the wilderness|strong="H4057".
29 Yet they are thy people|strong="H5971" and thine inheritance|strong="H5159", which thou broughtest out|strong="H3318" by thy mighty|strong="H1419" power|strong="H3581" and by thy stretched out|strong="H5186" arm|strong="H2220".
