1 Then the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776" took|strong="H3947" Jehoahaz|strong="H3059" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977", and made him king|strong="H4427" in his father’s|strong="H0001" stead in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
2 Jehoahaz|strong="H3099" was twenty|strong="H6242" and three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" three|strong="H7969" months|strong="H2320" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
3 And the king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" put him down|strong="H5493" at Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and condemned|strong="H6064" the land|strong="H0776" in an hundred|strong="H3967" talents|strong="H3603" of silver|strong="H3701" and a talent|strong="H3603" of gold|strong="H2091".
4 And the king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" made Eliakim|strong="H0471" his brother|strong="H0251" king|strong="H4427" over Judah|strong="H3063" and Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and turned|strong="H5437" his name|strong="H8034" to Jehoiakim|strong="H3079". And Necho|strong="H5224" took|strong="H3947" Jehoahaz|strong="H3099" his brother|strong="H0251", and carried|strong="H0935" him to Egypt|strong="H4714".
5 Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" was twenty|strong="H6242" and five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" eleven|strong="H0259" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389": and he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430".
6 Against him came up|strong="H5927" Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and bound|strong="H0631" him in fetters|strong="H5178", to carry|strong="H3212" him to Babylon|strong="H0894".
7 Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" also carried|strong="H0935" of the vessels|strong="H3627" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to Babylon|strong="H0894", and put|strong="H5414" them in his temple|strong="H1964" at Babylon|strong="H0894".
8 Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079", and his abominations|strong="H8441" which he did|strong="H6213", and that which was found|strong="H4672" in him, behold, they are written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" and Judah|strong="H3063": and Jehoiachin|strong="H3078" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
9 Jehoiachin|strong="H3078" was eight|strong="H8083" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" three|strong="H7969" months|strong="H2320" and ten|strong="H6235" days|strong="H3117" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389": and he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
10 And when the year|strong="H8141" was expired|strong="H8666", king|strong="H4428" Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" sent|strong="H7971", and brought|strong="H0935" him to Babylon|strong="H0894", with the goodly|strong="H2532" vessels|strong="H3627" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and made Zedekiah|strong="H6667" his brother|strong="H0251" king|strong="H4427" over Judah|strong="H3063" and Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
11 Zedekiah|strong="H6667" was one|strong="H0259" and twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and reigned|strong="H4427" eleven|strong="H0259" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
12 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430", and humbled|strong="H3665" not himself before|strong="H6440" Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030" speaking from the mouth|strong="H6310" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
13 And he also rebelled|strong="H4775" against king|strong="H4428" Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019", who had made him swear|strong="H7650" by God|strong="H0430": but he stiffened|strong="H7185" his neck|strong="H6203", and hardened|strong="H0553" his heart|strong="H3824" from turning|strong="H7725" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478".
14 Moreover all the chief|strong="H8269" of the priests|strong="H3548", and the people|strong="H5971", transgressed|strong="H4603" very|strong="H4604" much|strong="H7235" after all the abominations|strong="H8441" of the heathen|strong="H1471"; and polluted|strong="H2930" the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* which he had hallowed|strong="H6942" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
15 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of their fathers|strong="H0001" sent|strong="H7971" to them by|strong="H3027" his messengers|strong="H4397", rising up betimes|strong="H7925", and sending|strong="H7971"; because he had compassion|strong="H2550" on his people|strong="H5971", and on his dwelling place|strong="H4583":
16 But they mocked|strong="H3931" the messengers|strong="H4397" of God|strong="H0430", and despised|strong="H0959" his words|strong="H1697", and misused|strong="H8591" his prophets|strong="H5030", until the wrath|strong="H2534" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* arose|strong="H5927" against his people|strong="H5971", till there was no remedy|strong="H4832".
17 Therefore he brought|strong="H5927" upon them the king|strong="H4428" of the Chaldees|strong="H3778", who slew|strong="H2026" their young men|strong="H0970" with the sword|strong="H2719" in the house|strong="H1004" of their sanctuary|strong="H4720", and had no compassion|strong="H2550" upon young man|strong="H0970" or maiden|strong="H1330", old man|strong="H2205", or him that stooped for age|strong="H3486": he gave|strong="H5414" them all into his hand|strong="H3027".
18 And all the vessels|strong="H3627" of the house|strong="H1004" of God|strong="H0430", great|strong="H1419" and small|strong="H6996", and the treasures|strong="H0214" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the treasures|strong="H0214" of the king|strong="H4428", and of his princes|strong="H8269"; all these he brought|strong="H0935" to Babylon|strong="H0894".
19 And they burnt|strong="H8313" the house|strong="H1004" of God|strong="H0430", and brake down|strong="H5422" the wall|strong="H2346" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and burnt|strong="H8313" all the palaces|strong="H0759" thereof with fire|strong="H0784", and destroyed|strong="H7843" all the goodly|strong="H4261" vessels|strong="H3627" thereof.
20 And them that had escaped|strong="H7611" from the sword|strong="H2719" carried he away|strong="H1540" to Babylon|strong="H0894"; where they were servants|strong="H5650" to him and his sons|strong="H1121" until the reign|strong="H4427" of the kingdom|strong="H4438" of Persia|strong="H6539":
21 To fulfil|strong="H4390" the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* by the mouth|strong="H6310" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414", until the land|strong="H0776" had enjoyed|strong="H7521" her sabbaths|strong="H7676": for as long as|strong="H3117" she lay desolate|strong="H8074" she kept sabbath|strong="H7673", to fulfil|strong="H4390" threescore and ten|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141".
22 Now in the first|strong="H0259" year|strong="H8141" of Cyrus|strong="H3566" king|strong="H4428" of Persia|strong="H6539", that the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spoken by the mouth|strong="H6310" of Jeremiah|strong="H3414" might be accomplished|strong="H3615", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* stirred up|strong="H5782" the spirit|strong="H7307" of Cyrus|strong="H3566" king|strong="H4428" of Persia|strong="H6539", that he made a proclamation|strong="H5674" throughout all his kingdom|strong="H4438", and put it also in writing|strong="H4385", saying|strong="H0559",
23 Thus saith|strong="H0559" Cyrus|strong="H3566" king|strong="H4428" of Persia|strong="H6539", All the kingdoms|strong="H4467" of the earth|strong="H0776" hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of heaven|strong="H8064" given|strong="H5414" me; and he hath charged|strong="H6485" me to build|strong="H1129" him an house|strong="H1004" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", which is in Judah|strong="H3063". Who is there among you of all his people|strong="H5971"? The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430" be with him, and let him go up|strong="H5927".
