1 Moreover|strong="G1161", brethren|strong="G0080", we do|strong="G1107" you|strong="G5213" to wit|strong="G1107" of the grace|strong="G5485" of God|strong="G2316" bestowed|strong="G1325" on|strong="G1722" the churches|strong="G1577" of Macedonia|strong="G3109";
2 How that|strong="G3754" in|strong="G1722" a great|strong="G4183" trial|strong="G1382" of affliction|strong="G2347" the abundance|strong="G4050" of their|strong="G0846" joy|strong="G5479" and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" deep|strong="G0899" poverty|strong="G4432" abounded|strong="G4052" unto|strong="G1519" the riches|strong="G4149" of their|strong="G0846" liberality|strong="G0572".
3 For|strong="G3754" to|strong="G2596" their power|strong="G1411", I bear record|strong="G3140", yea, and|strong="G2532" beyond|strong="G5228" their power|strong="G1411" they were willing of themselves|strong="G0830";
4 Praying|strong="G1189" us|strong="G2257" with|strong="G3326" much|strong="G4183" intreaty|strong="G3874" that we|strong="G2248" would receive|strong="G1209" the gift|strong="G5485", and|strong="G2532" take upon us the fellowship|strong="G2842" of the ministering|strong="G1248" to|strong="G1519" the saints|strong="G0040".
5 And|strong="G2532" this they did, not|strong="G3756" as|strong="G2531" we hoped|strong="G1679", but|strong="G0235" first|strong="G4412" gave|strong="G1325" their own selves|strong="G1438" to the Lord|strong="G2962", and|strong="G2532" unto us|strong="G2254" by|strong="G1223" the will|strong="G2307" of God|strong="G2316".
6 Insomuch|strong="G1519" that|strong="G3870" we|strong="G2248" desired|strong="G3870" Titus|strong="G5103", that|strong="G2443" as|strong="G2531" he had begun|strong="G4278", so|strong="G3779" he would also|strong="G2532" finish|strong="G2005" in|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5209" the same|strong="G3778" grace|strong="G5485" also|strong="G2532".
7 Therefore|strong="G0235", as|strong="G5618" ye abound|strong="G4052" in|strong="G1722" every|strong="G3956" thing, in faith|strong="G4102", and|strong="G2532" utterance|strong="G3056", and|strong="G2532" knowledge|strong="G1108", and|strong="G2532" in all|strong="G3956" diligence|strong="G4710", and|strong="G2532" in your|strong="G5216" love|strong="G0026" to|strong="G1722" us|strong="G2254", see that|strong="G2443" ye abound|strong="G4052" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3778" grace|strong="G5485" also|strong="G2532".
8 I speak|strong="G3004" not|strong="G3756" by|strong="G2596" commandment|strong="G2003", but|strong="G0235" by occasion|strong="G1223" of the forwardness|strong="G4710" of others|strong="G2087", and|strong="G2532" to prove|strong="G1381" the sincerity|strong="G1103" of your|strong="G5212" love|strong="G0026".
9 For|strong="G1063" ye know|strong="G1097" the grace|strong="G5485" of our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547", that|strong="G3754", though he was|strong="G5607" rich|strong="G4145", yet for|strong="G1223" your sakes|strong="G5209" he became poor|strong="G4433", that|strong="G2443" ye|strong="G5210" through his|strong="G1565" poverty|strong="G4432" might be rich|strong="G4147".
10 And|strong="G2532" herein|strong="G1722" I give|strong="G1325" my advice|strong="G1106": for|strong="G1063" this|strong="G5124" is expedient|strong="G4851" for you|strong="G5213", who|strong="G3748" have begun before|strong="G4278", not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" to do|strong="G4160", but|strong="G0235" also|strong="G2532" to be forward|strong="G2309" a year ago|strong="G4070".
11 Now|strong="G3570" therefore|strong="G2532" perform|strong="G2005" the doing|strong="G4160" of it; that|strong="G3704" as|strong="G2509" there was a readiness|strong="G4288" to will|strong="G2309", so|strong="G3779" there may be a performance|strong="G2005" also|strong="G2532" out of|strong="G1537" that which|strong="G3588" ye have|strong="G2192".
12 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" there be first|strong="G4295" a willing mind|strong="G4288", it is accepted|strong="G2144" according to that|strong="G2526" a man|strong="G5100" hath|strong="G2192", and not|strong="G3756" according to|strong="G2526" that he hath|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3756".
13 For|strong="G1063" I mean not|strong="G3756" that|strong="G2443" other men|strong="G0243" be eased|strong="G0425", and|strong="G1161" ye|strong="G5213" burdened|strong="G2347":
14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that|strong="G2443" their|strong="G1565" abundance|strong="G4051" also|strong="G2532" may be|strong="G1096" a supply for|strong="G1519" your|strong="G5216" want|strong="G5303": that|strong="G3704" there may be|strong="G1096" equality|strong="G2471":
15 As|strong="G2531" it is written|strong="G1125", He that|strong="G3588" had gathered much|strong="G4183" had|strong="G4121" nothing|strong="G3756" over|strong="G4121"; and|strong="G2532" he that|strong="G3588" had gathered little|strong="G3641" had|strong="G1641" no|strong="G3756" lack|strong="G1641".
16 But|strong="G1161" thanks|strong="G5485" be to God|strong="G2316", which|strong="G3588" put|strong="G1325" the same|strong="G0846" earnest care|strong="G4710" into|strong="G1722" the heart|strong="G2588" of Titus|strong="G5103" for|strong="G5228" you|strong="G5216".
17 For|strong="G3754" indeed|strong="G3303" he accepted|strong="G1209" the exhortation|strong="G3874"; but|strong="G1161" being|strong="G5225" more forward|strong="G4705", of his own accord|strong="G0830" he went|strong="G1831" unto|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5209".
18 And|strong="G1161" we have sent|strong="G4842" with|strong="G3326" him|strong="G0846" the brother|strong="G0080", whose|strong="G3739" praise|strong="G1868" is in|strong="G1722" the gospel|strong="G2098" throughout|strong="G1223" all|strong="G3956" the churches|strong="G1577";
19 And|strong="G1161" not|strong="G3756" that only|strong="G3440", but|strong="G0235" who was|strong="G5500" also|strong="G2532" chosen|strong="G5500" of|strong="G5259" the churches|strong="G1577" to travel with|strong="G4898" us|strong="G2257" with|strong="G4862" this|strong="G3778" grace|strong="G5485", which|strong="G3588" is administered|strong="G1247" by|strong="G5259" us|strong="G2257" to|strong="G4314" the glory|strong="G1391" of the same|strong="G0846" Lord|strong="G2962", and|strong="G2532" declaration of your|strong="G5216" ready mind|strong="G4288":
20 Avoiding|strong="G4724" this|strong="G5124", that no|strong="G3361" man|strong="G5100" should blame|strong="G3469" us|strong="G2248" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3778" abundance|strong="G0100" which is administered|strong="G1247" by|strong="G5259" us|strong="G2257":
21 Providing for|strong="G4306" honest things|strong="G2570", not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" in the sight of|strong="G1799" the Lord|strong="G2962", but|strong="G0235" also|strong="G2532" in the sight of|strong="G1799" men|strong="G0444".
22 And|strong="G1161" we have sent with|strong="G4842" them|strong="G0846" our|strong="G2257" brother|strong="G0080", whom|strong="G3739" we have|strong="G1381" oftentimes|strong="G4178" proved|strong="G1381" diligent|strong="G4705" in|strong="G1722" many things|strong="G4183", but|strong="G1161" now|strong="G3570" much|strong="G4183" more diligent|strong="G4706", upon the great|strong="G4183" confidence|strong="G4006" which|strong="G3588" I have in|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5209".
23 Whether|strong="G1535" any do enquire of|strong="G5228" Titus|strong="G5103", he is my|strong="G1699" partner|strong="G2844" and|strong="G2532" fellowhelper|strong="G4904" concerning|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5209": or|strong="G1535" our|strong="G2257" brethren|strong="G0080" be enquired of, they are the messengers|strong="G0652" of the churches|strong="G1577", and the glory|strong="G1391" of Christ|strong="G5547".
24 Wherefore|strong="G3767" shew ye|strong="G1731" to|strong="G1519" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" before|strong="G4383" the churches|strong="G1577", the proof|strong="G1732" of your|strong="G5216" love|strong="G0026", and|strong="G2532" of our|strong="G2257" boasting|strong="G2746" on|strong="G5228" your behalf|strong="G5216".
