Now after this|strong="H0310" it came to pass, that David|strong="H1732" smote|strong="H5221" the Philistines|strong="H6430", and subdued|strong="H3665" them, and took|strong="H3947" Gath|strong="H1661" and her towns|strong="H1323" out of the hand|strong="H3027" of the Philistines|strong="H6430".
And he smote|strong="H5221" Moab|strong="H4124"; and the Moabites|strong="H4124" became David’s|strong="H1732" servants|strong="H5650", and brought|strong="H5375" gifts|strong="H4503".
And David|strong="H1732" smote|strong="H5221" Hadarezer|strong="H1928" king|strong="H4428" of Zobah|strong="H6678" unto Hamath|strong="H2574", as he went|strong="H3212" to stablish|strong="H5324" his dominion|strong="H3027" by the river|strong="H5104" Euphrates|strong="H6578".
And David|strong="H1732" took|strong="H3920" from him a thousand|strong="H0505" chariots|strong="H7393", and seven|strong="H7651" thousand|strong="H0505" horsemen|strong="H6571", and twenty|strong="H6242" thousand|strong="H0505" footmen|strong="H0376": David|strong="H1732" also houghed|strong="H6131" all the chariot|strong="H7393" horses, but reserved|strong="H3498" of them an hundred|strong="H3967" chariots|strong="H7393".
And when the Syrians|strong="H0758" of Damascus|strong="H1834" came|strong="H0935" to help|strong="H5826" Hadarezer|strong="H1928" king|strong="H4428" of Zobah|strong="H6678", David|strong="H1732" slew|strong="H5221" of the Syrians|strong="H0758" two|strong="H8147" and twenty|strong="H6242" thousand|strong="H0505" men|strong="H0376".
Then David|strong="H1732" put|strong="H7760" garrisons in Syria-damascus|strong="H0758"; and the Syrians|strong="H0758" became David’s|strong="H1732" servants|strong="H5650", and brought|strong="H5375" gifts|strong="H4503". Thus the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* preserved|strong="H3467" David|strong="H1732" whithersoever he went|strong="H1980".
And David|strong="H1732" took|strong="H3947" the shields|strong="H7982" of gold|strong="H2091" that were on the servants|strong="H5650" of Hadarezer|strong="H1928", and brought|strong="H0935" them to Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
Likewise from Tibhath|strong="H2880", and from Chun|strong="H3560", cities|strong="H5892" of Hadarezer|strong="H1928", brought|strong="H3947" David|strong="H1732" very|strong="H3966" much|strong="H7227" brass|strong="H5178", wherewith Solomon|strong="H8010" made|strong="H6213" the brasen|strong="H5178" sea|strong="H3220", and the pillars|strong="H5982", and the vessels|strong="H3627" of brass|strong="H5178".
Now when Tou|strong="H8583" king|strong="H4428" of Hamath|strong="H2574" heard|strong="H8085" how David|strong="H1732" had smitten|strong="H5221" all the host|strong="H2428" of Hadarezer|strong="H1928" king|strong="H4428" of Zobah|strong="H6678";
He sent|strong="H7971" Hadoram|strong="H1913" his son|strong="H1121" to king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732", to enquire|strong="H7592" of his welfare|strong="H7965", and to congratulate|strong="H1288" him, because he had fought|strong="H3898" against Hadarezer|strong="H1928", and smitten|strong="H5221" him; (for Hadarezer|strong="H1928" had war|strong="H0376" with Tou|strong="H8583";) and with him all manner of vessels|strong="H3627" of gold|strong="H2091" and silver|strong="H3701" and brass|strong="H5178".
Them also king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" dedicated|strong="H6942" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, with the silver|strong="H3701" and the gold|strong="H2091" that he brought|strong="H5375" from all these nations|strong="H1471"; from Edom|strong="H0123", and from Moab|strong="H4124", and from the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983", and from the Philistines|strong="H6430", and from Amalek|strong="H6002".
Moreover Abishai|strong="H0052" the son|strong="H1121" of Zeruiah|strong="H6870" slew|strong="H5221" of the Edomites|strong="H0123" in the valley|strong="H1516" of salt|strong="H4417" eighteen|strong="H8083" thousand|strong="H0505".
And he put|strong="H7760" garrisons|strong="H5333" in Edom|strong="H0123"; and all the Edomites|strong="H0123" became David’s|strong="H1732" servants|strong="H5650". Thus the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* preserved|strong="H3467" David|strong="H1732" whithersoever he went|strong="H1980".
So David|strong="H1732" reigned|strong="H4427" over all Israel|strong="H3478", and executed|strong="H6213" judgment|strong="H4941" and justice|strong="H6666" among all his people|strong="H5971".
And Joab|strong="H3097" the son|strong="H1121" of Zeruiah|strong="H6870" was over the host|strong="H6635"; and Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahilud|strong="H0286", recorder|strong="H2142".
And Zadok|strong="H6659" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahitub|strong="H0285", and Abimelech|strong="H0040" the son|strong="H1121" of Abiathar|strong="H0054", were the priests|strong="H3548"; and Shavsha|strong="H7798" was scribe|strong="H5608";
And Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077" was over the Cherethites|strong="H3774" and the Pelethites|strong="H6432"; and the sons|strong="H1121" of David|strong="H1732" were chief|strong="H7223" about|strong="H3027" the king|strong="H4428".
