1 Yesuusi asaw laa'entsuwaa leemisuwaan hawaadan yaagiide haasayeedda;
1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:
2 «Saluwaa kawutetsay bare na'aw machchiyaa immanaw ubbabaa makkeedda kaatiyaa mala.
2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 He kaatii bullachchaw odi wotseedda asatuwaa s'eesanaw bare k'oomatuwaa kiitteedda; shin asatuu yaanaw koyyibeykkino.
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
4 «K'ay hara k'oomatuwaa, ‹S'eesetteeddawantta, «Taani k'umaa giigissaaddi; ta sanggatuunne ta mod'd'o miyatuu shuketteeddino; ubbabaykka maketteedda. Bullachchaa haa yiite» yaagite› yaagiide kiitteedda.
4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 Shin s'eesetteeddawanttu koyyennaan is's'iide, barenttu oosoo beeddino; ittuu bare goshshaw biina, yekkuu bare zal"ew beedda.
5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.
6 Atteeddawanttu k'ay kaatiyaa k'oomatuwaa oyk'k'i wad'd'iide wod'eeddino.
6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.
7 «Kaatii daro hank'k'etteedda; k'ay bare wotaadaratuwaa yeddiide, he shemppuwaa wod'eeddawantta wod'isiide, unttunttu katamaa guudisseedda.
7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 Hewaappe guyyiyaan, bare k'oomatuwaa, ‹Bullachchay maketteedda; shin s'eesetteeddawanttu bullachchaw bessiyaa asaa gidikkino.
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 Hewaa diraw, wogga k'ad'd'aa biide, hinttenttu demmeedda asaa ubbaa bullachchaw s'eesite› yaageedda.
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 He k'oomatuu k'ad'd'aa biide, barenttu demmeedda asaa ubbaa lo"uwaa iitaa shiishshiide, bullachchaa daasiyaa kuntseeddino.
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 «Shin kaatii k'umaa maanaw utteedda asaa be'anaw geleedda wode, bullachchaa mayuwaa mayyibeenna itti bitaniyaa hewaan be'iide,
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 ‹Ta laggew, bullachchaa mayuwaa mayyennaan waanaade hawaa gelaaddii?› yaagina bitanii c'o"u geedda.
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 «Hewaappe guyyiyaan, kaatii bare k'oomatuwaa, ‹Ha bitaniyaa kushiyaanne gediyaa k'achchiide, kare d'umaa kessi olite; I hewaan yeekkananne achchaa d'ak'ana› yaageedda.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 «Ayaw gooppe, s'eesetteeddawanttu dara; shin dooretteeddawanttu guutsa» yaageedda.
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Hewaappe guyyiyaan, Parisaawatuu biide, Aa haasayaappe balaa demmiide, Aa oyk'k'ana mala mak'k'eteeddino.

16 K'ay barentta kaalliyaawanttuppenne Heroodisa baggatuwaappe amareedawantta aakko kiitteeddino. Unttunttu, «Tamaarissiyaawoo, neeni tumuwaa haasayiyaawaanne S'oossaa ogiyaa tumatetsaan tamaarissiyaawaa nuuni ereetto; ayaw gooppe, neeni asaappe asaa shaakkakkanne dummayakka.
16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;
17 Ne k'ofay ayentto nuw oda; nuuni Roome gadiyaa Kaatiyaa K'eesaarew giiraa giiriyaawe wogeeyye woga gidennee?» yaageeddino.
17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
18 Shin Yesuusi unttunttu iita k'ofaa eriide, «Ha lo"a malatiyaa iita asatoo, ayaw taana paac'c'iitee?
18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
19 Giiraa giiriyaa miishshaa taana bessite» yaageedda. Hewaappe guyye unttunttu biraa santtimiyaa aw aheeddino.
19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.
20 I, «Ha malaynne suntsay oowee?» yaageedda.
20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?
21 Hewaappe simmiide unttuntta oochchina, unttunttu, «Roome gadiyaa Kaatiyaa K'eesaarewaa» yaageeddino.
21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.
22 Unttunttu hewaa siseedda wode, maalalettiide Aa aggiide beeddino.
22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
23 Hayk'k'eedda Asay denddenna giyaa Saduk'aawanatuwaappe itti itti asatuu he gallassi Yesuusakko yiide, hawaadan yaagiide, Aa oochcheeddino;

24 «Tamaarissiyaawoo, Muse, ‹Itti Asay na'aa yelennaan hayk'k'ooppe, he hayk'k'eeddawaa ishay Aa machchatto laattiide, bare ishaw na'aa yelanaw bessee› yaageedda.
24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
25 Nuunanna laappu ishatuu de'iino; bayiray machchatto akkiide, na'aa yelennaan hayk'k'eedda; hewaappe guyyiyaan Aa machchatto Aa ishay akkeedda.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
26 K'ay laa'entsiyaawekka hayk'k'eedda; heezzetsiyaawekka, laappuntsa gakkanawukka hewaadan haneeddino.
26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
27 Ubbaappe guyyiyaan, he mishiratta hayk'k'aaddu.
27 And last of all the woman also died.
28 Yaatina, hayk'k'eedda Asay hayk'uwaappe denddiyaa gallassi he mishiratta laappunatuwaappe hak'awoo machche gidanee? Ayaw gooppe, laappunatuu ubbaykka izo akkeeddino» yaageeddino.
28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 Yesuusi zaariide, hawaadan yaageedda; «S'oossaa Mas'aafatuwaa woy Aa wolk'k'aa hinttenttu erenna diraw baliita.
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 Ayaw gooppe, hayk'k'eedda Asay hayk'uwaappe denddiyaa gallassi, saluwaan de'iyaa kiitanchchatuwaa mala gidanaappe attin, attuma asaynne akkena; mac'c'a asaynne gelenna.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.

31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:

32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.
33 Daro Asay hewaa sisiide, Aa timirttiyaan maalaletteeddino.
33 E, ouvindo esta doutrina, as turbas se enchiam de grande admiração.
34 Shin Yesuusi Saduk'aawanatuwaa c'o"u ootseeddawaa Parisaawatuu siseedda wode, ittisaa shiik'eeddino.
34 Sabendo os fariseus que Jesus reduzira ao silêncio os saduceus, reuniram-se
35 Unttunttu giddoppe higgiyaa tamaarissiyaa ittuu, Yesuusa paac'c'anaw ittibaa oochcheedda.
35 e um deles, doutor da lei, fez-lhe esta pergunta para pô-lo à prova:
36 «Tamaarissiyaawoo, higgiyaa gidduwaan ubbaappe aad'd'iyaa azazuu hak'awee?» yaagiide Aa oochcheedda.
36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 Yesuusi zaariide, hawaadan yaageedda; « ‹Neeni Godaa ne S'oossaa ne kumentsaa wozanaappe, ne kumentsaa shemppuwaappe, ne kumentsaa k'ofaappe siik'a› yaageedda.
37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.
38 Hewe ubbaappe dariyaa azazuwaanne k'ay ubbaappe aad'd'iyaa azazuwaa.
38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 K'ay laa'entsiyaa azazuukka Aa mala; hewe, ‹Neeni ne shooruwaa ne huup'iyaadaan siik'a› giyaawaa.
39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.
40 Muse higgiyaa ubbaynne nabatuwaa timirttii ha laa"u azazatuwaan k'ashettee» yaageedda.
40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.

42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 Yesuusi unttuntta, «Yaatina, Daawite barena Geeshsha Ayyaanay haasayissina Kiristtoosa waagiide, ‹Godaa› giide s'eesii?
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 K'aykka Daawite,
44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
45 Daawite Kiristtoosa, ‹Godaa› giide s'eesooppe, yaatina, Kiristtoosi waaniide Daawita na'aa gidii?» yaageedda.
45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
46 Yesuusaw itti k'aalaa zaaranaw danddayeedda itti asaynne baawa; k'ay he gallassaappe doommina, hara ooshaa Aa oochchanaw s'aleeddawe ooninne baawa.
46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
