1 Unto the end, understanding for David,
1 Ao Músico-chefe, Masquil, Salmo de Davi, quando Doegue, o edomita, veio e contou a Saul, e lhe disse que Davi havia ido à casa de Abimeleque. Por que te vanglorias com o dano, ó poderoso homem? A bondade de Deus perdura continuamente.

2 Tua língua intenta danos, como uma navalha afiada, trabalhando enganosamente.
3 Why dost thou glory in malice, thou that art mighty in iniquity?
3 Tu amas o mal mais do que o bem, e mentir mais do que falar a justiça. Selá.
4 All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit.
4 Tu amas todas as palavras devoradoras, ó tu, língua enganosa.
5 Thou hast loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness.
5 Deus, da mesma forma, te destruirá para sempre, ele te removerá e te arrancará da tua habitação, e desarraigar-te-á da terra dos vivos. Selá.
6 Thou hast loved all the words of ruin, O deceitful tongue.
6 Os justos também verão, temerão, e se rirão dele.
7 Therefore will God destroy thee for ever: he will pluck thee out, and remove thee from thy dwelling place: and thy root out of the land of the living.
7 Eis que este é o homem que não fez de Deus a sua força, mas confiou na abundância das suas riquezas, e se fortaleceu em sua perversidade.
8 The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say:
8 Mas eu sou como uma oliveira verde na casa de Deus; confio na misericórdia de Deus para sempre e sempre.
9 Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity.
9 Eu te louvarei para sempre, porque fizeste isto, e esperarei no teu nome, porque isto é bom diante dos teus santos.
10 But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever.

11 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good in the sight of thy saints.
