1 Hear ye what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou in judgment against the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
1 Ouvi agora o que o SENHOR diz: Levanta-te, contende perante os montes, e ouçam as colinas a tua voz.
2 Let the mountains hear the judgment of the Lord, and the strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord will enter into judgment with his people, and he will plead against Israel.
2 Ouvi, ó montes, a acusação do SENHOR, e vós, fortes fundamentos da terra; pois o SENHOR tem uma acusação contra o seu povo, e com Israel entrará em juízo.
3 O my people, what have I done to thee, or in what have I molested thee? answer thou me.
3 Ó meu povo, o que fiz contigo? E com que te enfadei? Testifica contra mim.
4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and delivered thee out of the house of slaves: and I sent before thy face Moses, and Aaron, and Mary.
4 Pois te trouxe da terra do Egito, e te remi da casa da servidão; e enviei adiante de ti a Moisés, Arão e Miriã.

5 Ó meu povo, lembra-te agora do que Balaque, rei de Moabe, consultou, e o que Balaão, filho de Beor, lhe respondeu, desde Sitim até Gilgal, para que tu conheças as justiças do SENHOR.
6 O my people, remember, I pray thee, what Balach the king of Moab purposed: and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, from Setim to Galgal, that thou mightest know the justices of the Lord.
6 Com que me apresentarei diante do SENHOR, e me inclinarei diante do Deus altíssimo? Deveria me apresentar diante dele com ofertas queimadas, e novilhos de um ano?

7 O SENHOR se agradará de milhares de carneiros, ou de dez mil ribeiros de azeite? Darei o meu primogênito pela minha transgressão, o fruto do meu corpo pelo pecado da minha alma?
8 What shall I offer to the Lord that is worthy? wherewith shall I kneel before the high God? shall I offer holocausts unto him, and calves of a year old?
8 Ele te declarou, ó homem, o que é bom; e o que o SENHOR pede de ti, senão que pratiques a justiça, ames a misericórdia, e andes humildemente com o teu Deus?
9 May the Lord be appeased with thousands of rams, or with many thousands of fat he goats? shall I give my firstborn for my wickedness, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
9 A voz do SENHOR clama à cidade, e o homem sábio verá o teu nome. Ouvi a vara, e quem a designou.
10 I will shew thee, O man, what is good, and what the Lord requireth of thee: Verily, to do judgment, and to love mercy, and to walk solicitous with thy God.
10 Ainda há na casa do ímpio tesouros da maldade, e medida escassa, que é abominável?
11 The voice of the Lord crieth to the city, and salvation shall be to them that fear thy name: hear, O ye tribes, and who shall approve it?
11 Devo considerá-los puro com balanças falsas, e com bolsa de pesos enganosos?
12 As yet there is a fire in the house of the wicked, the treasures of iniquity, and a scant measure full of wrath.
12 Pois os homens ricos estão cheios de violência, e seus habitantes falam mentiras, e a sua língua é enganosa na sua boca.
13 Shall I justify wicked balances, and the deceitful weights of the bag?
13 Assim eu também te farei enfermo, ferindo-te, e assolando-te por causa dos teus pecados.
14 By which her rich men were filled with iniquity, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue was deceitful in their mouth.
14 Tu comerás, mas não te fartarás; e a tua humilhação estará no meio de ti; tomarás posse, mas não livrarás, e aquilo que livrares, eu o entregarei à espada.
15 And I therefore began to strike thee with desolation for thy sins.
15 Tu semearás, mas não colherás; pisarás a azeitona, mas não ungirás a ti com azeite; espremerão uvas, mas não beberão o vinho.
16 Thou shalt eat, but shalt not be filled: and thy humiliation shall be in the midst of thee: and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not save: and those whom thou shalt save, I will give up to the sword.
16 Pois obedecem os estatutos de Onri, e todas as obras da casa de Acabe, e andais em seus conselhos; para que eu te faça uma desolação, e de seus habitantes um assobio; assim suportarão a reprovação do meu povo.
17 Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap: thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not be anointed with the oil: and the new wine, but shalt not drink the wine.

18 For thou hast kept the statutes of Amri, and all the works of the house of Achab: and thou hast walked according to their wills, that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing, and you shall bear the reproach of my people.
