1 Behold the Lord shall lay waste the earth, and shall strip it, and shall afflict the face thereof, and scatter abroad the inhabitants thereof.
1 Eis que o SENHOR esvazia a terra, e a deixa desolada e às avessas, e dispersa para fora de seus países os seus habitantes.
2 And it shall be as with the people, so with the priest: and as with the servant, so with his master: as with the handmaid, so with her mistress: as with the buyer, so with the seller: as with the lender, so with the borrower: as with him that calleth for his money, so with him that oweth.
2 E isto ocorrerá. Como ao povo, assim se fará com o sacerdote; como ao servo, assim se fará com o patrão; como a criada, assim se fará com a sua patroa; como ao comprador, assim se fará ao vendedor; como ao credor, assim se fará com o devedor; como ao que recebe a usura assim se fará com o que lhe paga a usura.
3 With desolation shall the earth be laid waste, and it shall be utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word.
3 A terra será completamente esvaziada e completamente saqueada, porque o SENHOR tem falado esta palavra.
4 The earth mourned, and faded away, and is weakened: the world faded away, the height of the people of the earth is weakened.
4 A terra pranteia e se desvanece, o mundo definha e se desvanece, o povo soberbo da terra definha.
5 And the earth is infected by the in- habitants thereof: because they have transgressed the laws, they have changed the ordinance, they have broken the everlasting covenant.
5 A terra também está corrompida sob os habitantes dela, porque eles têm transgredido as leis, mudado os estatutos, quebrado o pacto eterno.
6 Therefore shall a curse devour the earth, and the inhabitants thereof shall sin: and therefore they that dwell therein shall be mad, and few men shall be left.
6 Portanto, a maldição tem devorado a terra e aqueles que nela habitam estão desolados. Portanto, os habitantes da terra estão queimados e poucos homens restam.
7 The vintage hath mourned, the vine hath languished away, all the merryhearted have sighed.
7 O vinho novo pranteia, a videira definha, todo o de coração alegre suspira.
8 The mirth of timbrels hath ceased, the noise of them that rejoice is ended, the melody of the harp is silent.
8 O regozijo dos tamborins cessa, o barulho daqueles que jubilam termina, a alegria da harpa cessa.
9 They shall not drink wine with a song: the drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.
9 Eles não beberão vinho acompanhados por uma canção. A bebida forte será amarga para os que a bebem.
10 The city of vanity is broken down, every house is shut up, no man cometh in.
10 A cidade da confusão está destruída. Toda casa está fechada, por isso nenhum homem pode entrar.
11 There shall be a crying for wine in the streets: all mirth is forsaken: the joy of the earth is gone away.
11 Existe um implorar por vinho nas ruas. Toda alegria está escurecida, o regozijo da terra se foi.
12 Desolation is left in the city, and calamity shall oppress the gates.
12 No interior da cidade é deixada desolação, e o portão está danificado com destruição.
13 For it shall be thus in the midst of the earth, in the midst of the people, as if a few olives, that remain, should be shaken out of the olive tree: or grapes, when the vintage is ended.
13 Deste modo, quando isto estiver no meio da terra entre os povos, haverá como que o sacudir de uma oliveira, e como que o respigar uvas quando a vindima está feita.
14 These shall lift up their voice, and shall give praise: when the Lord shall be glorified, they shall make a joyful noise from the sea.
14 Eles erguerão suas vozes e entoarão cântico pela majestade do SENHOR, eles clamarão em altas vozes desde o mar.
15 Therefore glorify ye the Lord in instruction: the name of the Lord God of Israel in the islands of the sea.
15 Por essa razão glorificai vós o SENHOR nos fogos, o nome do SENHOR Deus de Israel nas ilhas do mar.
16 From the ends of the earth we have heard praises, the glory of the just one. And I said: My secret to myself, my secret to myself, woe is me: the prevaricators have prevaricated, and with the prevarication of transgressors they have prevaricated.
16 Desde a parte mais extrema da terra temos nós ouvido canções, glória ao justo. Porém, eu disse: Estou no fim, estou no fim, que desgraça! Os traiçoeiros comerciantes têm negociado traiçoeiramente. Sim, os traiçoeiros comerciantes têm negociado muito traiçoeiramente.
17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare are upon thee, O thou inhabitant of the earth.
17 Temor, a cova e a armadilha estão sobre ti, ó habitante da terra.
18 And it shall come to pass, that he that shall flee from the noise of the fear, shall fall into the pit: and he that shall rid himself out of the pit, shall be taken in the snare: for the flood-gates from on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.
18 E acontecerá, que o que foge do grito de pânico cairá dentro da cova, e o que sair do meio da cova será apanhado na armadilha, porque as janelas do alto estão abertas e os alicerces da terra tremem.
19 With breaking shall the earth be broken, with crushing shall the earth be crushed, with trembling shall the earth be moved.
19 A terra está completamente destruída, a terra está nitidamente decomposta, a terra está extremamente abalada.
20 With shaking shall the earth be shaken as a drunken man, and shall be removed as the tent of one night: and the iniquity thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fell, and not rise again.
20 A terra irá cambalear para frente e para trás, como um bêbado, e será removida como uma choupana, e a sua transgressão será pesada sobre ela, e cairá, e não se levantará novamente.
21 And it shall come to pass, that in that day the Lord shall visit upon the host of heaven on high, and upon the kings of the earth, on the earth.
21 E acontecerá naquele dia que o SENHOR punirá o exército do alto, que está nas alturas, e os reis da terra, sobre a terra.
22 And they shall be gathered together as in the gathering of one bundle into the pit, and they shall be shut up there in prison: and after many days they shall be visited.
22 E eles serão reunidos como os prisioneiros são reunidos na masmorra, e serão fechados na prisão, e após muitos dias eles serão visitados.
23 fend the moon shall blush, and the sun shall be ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Sion, and in Jerusalem, and shall be glorified in the sight of his ancients.
23 E a lua estará perplexa, e o sol envergonhado, quando o SENHOR dos Exércitos vier a reinar no monte Sião, e dentro de Jerusalém, e perante os seus antepassados gloriosamente.
