1 And the Lord said to Moses: Go in to Pharao, and thou shalt say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Let my people go to sacrifice to me.
1 Depois o Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — Vá falar com o rei e diga que o
2 But if thou wilt not let them go behold I will strike all thy coasts with frogs.
2 Se você não deixar, eu castigarei o seu país, cobrindo-o de rãs.
3 And the river shall bring forth an abundance of frogs: which shall come up, and enter into thy house, and thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and in the houses of thy servants, and to thy people, and into thy ovens, and into the remains of thy meats;
3 O rio Nilo ficará cheio de rãs, e elas sairão dele e entrarão no palácio do rei, no seu quarto, na sua cama, nas casas dos seus funcionários e do seu povo e até dentro dos fornos e das bacias de amassar pão.
4 And the frogs shall come in to thee and to thy people, and to all thy servants.
4 As rãs pularão em cima de você, do seu povo e de todos os seus funcionários.”
5 And the Lord said to Moses: Say to Aaron, Stretch forth thy hand upon the streams and upon the rivers and the pools, and bring forth frogs upon the land of Egypt.
5 O Senhor Deus disse ainda a Moisés: — Diga a Arão que estenda o bastão sobre os rios, os canais e os poços e faça com que as rãs saiam das águas e cubram a terra do Egito.
6 And Aaron stretched forth his hand upon the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
6 Aí Arão estendeu a mão sobre as águas do Egito, e as rãs saíram das águas e cobriram todo o país.
7 And the magicians also by their enchantments did in like manner, and the brought forth frogs upon all the land of Egypt
7 Porém os mágicos, com as suas artes, fizeram a mesma coisa; eles também trouxeram rãs sobre a terra do Egito.
8 But Pharao called Moses and Aaron and said to them: Pray ye to the Lord to take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.
8 Então o rei mandou chamar Moisés e Arão e lhes disse: — Peçam ao
9 And Moses said to Pharao: Set me a time when I shall pray for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, that the frogs may be driven away from thee and from thy house, and from thy servants, and from thy people: and may remain only in the river.
9 Moisés respondeu: — Terei muito prazer em levar o seu pedido. Diga quando é que o senhor quer que eu peça a Deus em seu favor, em favor dos seus funcionários e do seu povo, para que as rãs sumam do seu palácio e das casas e fiquem somente no rio.
10 And he answered: Tomorrow. But he said: I will do according to thy word; that thou mayst know that there is none like to the Lord our God.
10 O rei respondeu: — Orem por mim amanhã. E Moisés disse: — Ó rei, vou fazer como pediu, e assim o senhor ficará sabendo que não há outro deus como o
11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy house, and from thy servants, and from thy people; and shall remain only in the river.
11 O senhor, os seus funcionários e o seu povo ficarão livres das rãs; só no rio Nilo é que haverá rãs.
12 And Moses and Aaron went forth from Pharao: and Moses cried to the Lord for the promise, which he had made to Pharao concerning the frogs.
12 Moisés e Arão saíram do palácio do rei. Depois Moisés pediu ao Senhor Deus que retirasse as rãs que ele havia mandado contra o rei.
13 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses: and the frogs died out of the houses, and out of the villages, and out of the fields:
13 E o Senhor atendeu o seu pedido: as rãs que estavam nas casas, nos quintais e nos campos morreram.
14 And they gathered them together into immense heaps, and the land was corrupted.
14 Os egípcios fizeram muitos montes de rãs, e um cheiro horrível se espalhou pelo país inteiro.
15 And Pharao seeing that rest was given, hardened his own heart, and did not hear them, as the Lord had commanded.
15 Quando o rei viu que as rãs tinham morrido, continuou teimando, como o Senhor tinha dito, e não atendeu o pedido de Moisés e Arão.
16 And the Lord said to Moses: Say to Aaron, Stretch forth thy rod, and strike the dust of the earth: and may there be sciniphs in all the land of Egypt.
16 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — Diga a Arão que bata na terra com o bastão para que em todo o Egito o pó vire piolhos.
17 And they did so. And Aaron stretched forth his hand, holding the rod: and he struck the dust of the earth, and there came sciniphs on men and on beasts: all the dust of the earth was turned into sciniphs through all the land of Egypt.
17 E Arão bateu na terra com o bastão, e todo o pó do Egito virou piolhos, que cobriram as pessoas e os animais.
18 And the magicians with their enchantments practiced in like manner, to bring forth sciniphs, and they could not and there were sciniphs as well on men as on beasts.
18 Os mágicos tentaram fazer aparecer piolhos, mas não conseguiram. E as pessoas e os animais continuaram cobertos de piolhos.
19 And the magicians said to Pharao This is the finger of God. And Pharao heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them, as the Lord had commanded.
19 Então os mágicos disseram ao rei: — Foi Deus quem fez isso! Mas o rei continuou teimando, como o
20 The Lord also said to Moses: Arise early, and stand before Pharao: for he will go forth to the waters: and thou shalt say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Let my people go to sacrifice to me.
20 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés: — Amanhã cedo, quando o rei for até a beira do rio, vá falar com ele e diga-lhe que eu, o
21 But if thou wilt not let them go, behold I will send in upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy houses all kind of flies: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be filled with flies of divers kinds, and the whole land wherein they shall be.
21 Se você não deixar, eu mandarei moscas para castigar você, os seus funcionários e o seu povo. As casas dos egípcios ficarão cheias de moscas, e o chão ficará coberto com elas.
22 And I will make the land of Gessen wherein my people is, wonderful in that lay, so that flies shall not be there: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth.
22 Mas naquele dia separarei a região de Gosém, onde mora o meu povo, para que ali não haja moscas. Assim, você ficará sabendo que eu, o Senhor , estou aqui neste país.
23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: tomorrow shall this sign be.
23 Farei diferença entre o meu povo e o seu povo. Este milagre vai acontecer amanhã.”
24 And the Lord did so. And there came a very grievous swarm of flies into he houses of Pharao and of his servants, and into all the land of Egypt: and the land was corrupted by this kind of flies.
24 Assim fez Deus, o Senhor , e entraram grandes enxames de moscas no palácio do rei e nas casas dos seus funcionários. E, por causa das moscas, houve muito prejuízo no Egito inteiro.
25 And Pharao called Moses and Aaron, and said to them: Go, and sacrifice to your God in this land.
25 Então o rei chamou Moisés e Arão e disse: — Vão oferecer
26 And Moses said: It cannot be so: for we shall sacrifice the abominations of the Egyptians to the Lord our God: now if we kill those things which the Egyptians worship, in their presence, they will stone us.
26 Moisés respondeu: — Isso não daria certo, pois os animais que oferecemos em sacrifício ao
27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness: and we will sacrifice to the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
27 Nós temos de caminhar três dias pelo deserto até chegarmos ao lugar onde vamos oferecer sacrifícios ao Senhor , nosso Deus, como ele mesmo nos ordenou.
28 And Pharao said: I will let you go to sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness: but go no farther: pray for me.
28 Então o rei disse: — Se vocês não forem muito longe, eu os deixarei ir ao deserto oferecer sacrifícios ao
29 And Moses said: I will go out from thee, and will pray to the Lord: and the flies shall depart from Pharao, and from his servants, and from his people tomorrow: but do not deceive any more, in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.
29 Moisés respondeu: — Logo que eu sair daqui, vou orar a Deus para que estes enxames de moscas deixem o senhor, os seus funcionários e o seu povo. Mas o senhor não deve nos enganar outra vez, proibindo que o povo vá oferecer sacrifícios a Deus, o
30 So Moses went out from Pharao, and prayed to the Lord.
30 Então Moisés saiu do palácio e orou a Deus, o Senhor .
31 And he did according to his word: and he took away the flies from Pharao, and from his servants, and from his people: there was not left so much as one.
31 O Senhor fez o que Moisés havia pedido: ele fez com que as moscas deixassem o rei, os seus funcionários e o seu povo. Não ficou uma só mosca.
32 And Pharao's heart was hardened, so that neither this time would he let the people go.
32 Mas ainda dessa vez o rei continuou teimando e não deixou o povo ir.
