1 Then the people of the land took Joachaz the son of Josias, and made him king instead of his father in Jerusalem.
1 O povo da terra tomou a Joacaz, filho de Josias, e o fez rei em lugar de seu pai, em Jerusalém.
2 Joachaz was three and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
2 Tinha Joacaz vinte e três anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou três meses em Jerusalém;
3 And the king of Egypt came to Jerusalem, and deposed him, and condemned the land in a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
3 porque o rei do Egito o depôs em Jerusalém e impôs à terra a pena de cem talentos de prata e um de ouro.
4 And he made Eliakim his brother king in his stead, over Juda and Jerusalem: and he turned his name to Joakim: but he took Joachaz with him, and carried him away into Egypt.
4 O rei do Egito constituiu a Eliaquim, irmão de Joacaz, rei sobre Judá e Jerusalém e lhe mudou o nome para Jeoaquim; mas ao irmão Joacaz tomou Neco e o levou para o Egito.
5 Joakim was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did evil before the Lord his God.
5 Tinha Jeoaquim a idade de vinte e cinco anos quando começou a reinar e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. Fez ele o que era mau perante o Senhor , seu Deus.
6 Against him came up Nabuchodonosor king of the Chaldeans, and led him bound in chains into Babylon.
6 Subiu, pois, contra ele Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e o amarrou com duas cadeias de bronze, para o levar à Babilônia.
7 And he carried also thither the vessels of the Lord, and put them in his temple.
7 Também alguns dos utensílios da Casa do Senhor levou Nabucodonosor para a Babilônia, onde os pôs no seu templo.
8 But the rest of the acts of Joakim, and his abominations, which he wrought, and the things that were found in him, are contained in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel. And Joachin his son reigned in his stead.
8 Quanto aos mais atos de Jeoaquim, e às abominações que cometeu, e ao mais que se achou nele, eis que estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel e de Judá; e Joaquim, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
9 Joachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem, and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.
9 Tinha Joaquim dezoito anos quando começou a reinar e reinou três meses e dez dias em Jerusalém. Fez ele o que era mau perante o Senhor .
10 And at the return of the year, king Nabuchodonosor sent, and brought him to Babylon, carrying away at the same time the most precious vessels of the house of the Lord: and he made Sedecias his uncle king over Juda and Jerusalem.
10 Na primavera do ano, mandou o rei Nabucodonosor levá-lo à Babilônia, com os mais preciosos utensílios da Casa do Senhor ; e estabeleceu a Zedequias, seu irmão, rei sobre Judá e Jerusalém.
11 Sedecias was one and twenty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
11 Tinha Zedequias a idade de vinte e um anos quando começou a reinar e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém.
12 And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord his God, and did not reverence the face of Jeremias the prophet speaking to him from the mouth of the Lord.
12 Fez o que era mau perante o Senhor , seu Deus, e não se humilhou perante o profeta Jeremias, que falava da parte do Senhor .
13 Re also revolted from king Nabuchodonosor, who had made him swear by God: and he hardened his neck and his heart, from returning to the Lord the God of Israel.
13 Rebelou-se também contra o rei Nabucodonosor, que o tinha ajuramentado por Deus; mas endureceu a sua cerviz e tanto se obstinou no seu coração, que não voltou ao Senhor , Deus de Israel.
14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people wickedly transgressed according to all the abominations of the Gentiles: and they defiled the house of the Lord, which he had sanctified to himself in Jerusalem.
14 Também todos os chefes dos sacerdotes e o povo aumentavam mais e mais as transgressões, segundo todas as abominações dos gentios; e contaminaram a casa que o Senhor tinha santificado em Jerusalém.
15 And the Lord the God of their fathers sent to them, by the hand of his messengers, rising early, and daily admonishing them: because he spared his people and his dwelling place.
15 O Senhor , Deus de seus pais, começando de madrugada, falou-lhes por intermédio dos seus mensageiros, porque se compadecera do seu povo e da sua própria morada.
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused the prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, and there was no remedy.
16 Eles, porém, zombavam dos mensageiros, desprezavam as palavras de Deus e mofavam dos seus profetas, até que subiu a ira do Senhor contra o seu povo, e não houve remédio algum.
17 For he brought upon them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slew their young men with the sword in the house of his sanctuary, he had no compassion on young man, or maiden, old man or even him that stooped for age, but he delivered them all into his hands.
17 Por isso, o Senhor fez subir contra ele o rei dos caldeus, o qual matou os seus jovens à espada, na casa do seu santuário; e não teve piedade nem dos jovens nem das donzelas, nem dos velhos nem dos mais avançados em idade; a todos os deu nas suas mãos.
18 And all the vessels of the house of the Lord, great and small, and the treasures of the temple and of the king, and of the princes he carried away to Babylon.
18 Todos os utensílios da Casa de Deus, grandes e pequenos, os tesouros da Casa do Senhor e os tesouros do rei e dos seus príncipes, tudo levou ele para a Babilônia.
19 And the enemies set fire to the house of God, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, burnt all the towers, and whatsoever was precious they destroyed.
19 Queimaram a Casa de Deus e derribaram os muros de Jerusalém; todos os seus palácios queimaram, destruindo também todos os seus preciosos objetos.
20 Whosoever escaped the sword, was led into Babylon, and there served the king and his sons till the reign of the king of Persia.
20 Os que escaparam da espada, a esses levou ele para a Babilônia, onde se tornaram seus servos e de seus filhos, até ao tempo do reino da Pérsia;
21 That the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremias might be fulfilled, and the land might keep her sabbaths: for all the days of the desolation she kept a sabbath, till the seventy years were expired.
21 para que se cumprisse a palavra do Senhor , por boca de Jeremias, até que a terra se agradasse dos seus sábados; todos os dias da desolação repousou, até que os setenta anos se cumpriram.
22 But in the first year d of Cyrus king of the Persians, to fulfil the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by the mouth of Jeremias, the Lord stirred up the heart of Cyrus king of the Persians who commanded it to be proclaimed through all his kingdom, and by writing also, saying:
22 Porém, no primeiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, para que se cumprisse a palavra do Senhor , por boca de Jeremias, despertou o Senhor o espírito de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, o qual fez passar pregão por todo o seu reino, como também por escrito, dizendo:
23 Thus saith Cyrus king of the Persians: All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord the God of heaven given to me, and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judea: who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.
23 Assim diz Ciro, rei da Pérsia: O Senhor , Deus dos céus, me deu todos os reinos da terra e me encarregou de lhe edificar uma casa em Jerusalém, que está em Judá; quem entre vós é de todo o seu povo, que suba, e o Senhor , seu Deus, seja com ele.
