¹ [To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] Hear, O God, my voice in my plaint; preserve my life from fear of the enemy:

¹ Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha queixa; preserva a minha vida do terror do inimigo.

² Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumultuous crowd of the workers of iniquity,

² Esconde-me da conspiração dos malfeitores e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniquidade.

³ Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, {and} have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;

³ Eles afiam a língua como espada e apontam, quais flechas, palavras amargas,

⁴ That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil matter, they concert to hide snares; they say, Who will see them?

⁵ Teimam no mau propósito; falam em secretamente armar ciladas, e dizem: “Quem nos verá?”

⁶ They devise iniquities: We have it ready, the plan is diligently sought out. And each one's inward {thought} and heart is deep.

⁶ Planejam iniquidades e dizem: “O plano que fizemos é perfeito!” Os pensamentos e o coração de cada um deles são um abismo.

⁷ But God will shoot an arrow at them: suddenly are they wounded;

⁷ Mas Deus atira contra eles uma flecha; de repente, ficarão feridos.

⁸ By their own tongue they are made to fall over one another: all that see them shall flee away.

⁸ Assim, serão levados a tropeçar; a própria língua se voltará contra eles; todos os que os veem balançam a cabeça.

⁹ And all men shall fear, and shall declare God's doing; and they shall wisely consider his work.

⁹ Todas as pessoas temerão, e anunciarão as obras de Deus, e entenderão o que ele faz.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

¹⁰ O justo se alegra no Senhor e nele confia; e se gloriam todos os retos de coração.
