1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a male, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the separation of her infirmity shall she be unclean.
2 — Diga aos filhos de Israel: Se uma mulher conceber e tiver um menino, ficará impura durante sete dias; como nos dias da sua menstruação, ficará impura.
3 And on the eighth day shall the flesh of his foreskin be circumcised.
3 E, no oitavo dia, o menino será circuncidado.
4 And she shall continue thirty-three days in the blood of her cleansing; no holy thing shall she touch, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her cleansing are fulfilled.
4 Depois, ela ficará trinta e três dias a purificar-se do seu sangue; nenhuma coisa santa tocará, nem entrará no santuário até que se cumpram os dias da sua purificação.
5 And if she bear a female, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation; and she shall continue sixty-six days in the blood of her cleansing.
5 Mas, se tiver uma menina, ficará impura durante duas semanas, como na sua menstruação; depois, ficará sessenta e seis dias a purificar-se do seu sangue.
6 And when the days of her cleansing are fulfilled, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a yearling lamb for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon or a turtle-dove for a sin-offering, to the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest.
6 — E, cumpridos os dias da sua purificação pelo nascimento de um filho ou de uma filha, trará ao sacerdote, à porta da tenda do encontro, um cordeiro de um ano, por holocausto, e um pombinho ou uma rolinha, por oferta pelo pecado;
7 And he shall present it before Jehovah, and make atonement for her; and she shall be clean from the flux of her blood. This is the law for her that hath borne a male or a female.
7 o sacerdote oferecerá esse sacrifício diante do Senhor e, pela mulher, fará expiação; e ela será purificada do fluxo do seu sangue. Esta é a lei a respeito da que der à luz um menino ou uma menina.
8 And if her hand cannot find what is sufficient for a sheep, she shall bring two turtle-doves or two young pigeons; one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her; and she shall be clean.
8 Mas, se as suas posses não lhe permitirem trazer um cordeiro, então a mulher trará duas rolinhas ou dois pombinhos, um para o holocausto e o outro para a oferta pelo pecado; assim, o sacerdote fará expiação pela mulher, e ela ficará pura.
