1 Thus saith Jehovah: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
1 Assim diz o SENHOR: Desce à casa do rei de Judá, e anuncia ali esta palavra,
2 and say, Hear the word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people who enter in through these gates.
2 E dize: Ouve a palavra do Senhor, ó rei de Judá, que te assentas no trono de Davi, tu, e os teus servos, o teu povo, que entrais por estas portas.
3 Thus saith Jehovah: Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor; and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place.
3 Assim diz o Senhor: Exercei o juízo e a justiça, e livrai o espoliado da mão do opressor; e não oprimais ao estrangeiro, nem ao órfão, nem à viúva; não façais violência, nem derrameis sangue inocente neste lugar.
4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in through the gates of this house kings sitting in the place of David upon his throne, riding in chariots and on horses, -he, and his servants, and his people.
4 Porque, se deveras cumprirdes esta palavra, entrarão pelas portas desta casa os reis que se assentarão em lugar de Davi sobre o seu trono, andando em carros e montados em cavalos, eles, e os seus servos, e o seu povo.
5 But if ye will not hear these words, I have sworn by myself, saith Jehovah, that this house shall become a waste.
5 Mas, se não derdes ouvidos a estas palavras, por mim mesmo tenho jurado, diz o Senhor, que esta casa se tornará em assolação.
6 For thus saith Jehovah concerning the house of the king of Judah: Thou art a Gilead unto me, the summit of Lebanon: verily I will make thee a wilderness, cities not inhabited.
6 Porque assim diz o Senhor acerca da casa do rei de Judá: Tu és para mim Gileade, e a cabeça do Líbano; mas por certo que farei de ti um deserto e cidades desabitadas.
7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons; and they shall cut down the choice of thy cedars, and cast {them} into the fire.
7 Porque preparei contra ti destruidores, cada um com as suas armas; e cortarão os teus cedros escolhidos, e lançá-los-ão no fogo.
8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this great city?
8 E muitas nações passarão por esta cidade, e dirá cada um ao seu próximo: Por que procedeu o Senhor assim com esta grande cidade?
9 And they shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
9 E dirão: Porque deixaram a aliança do Senhor seu Deus, e se inclinaram diante de outros deuses, e os serviram.
10 Weep not for the dead, neither bemoan him; {but} weep sore for him that goeth away, for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
10 Não choreis o morto, nem o lastimeis; chorai abundantemente aquele que sai, porque nunca mais tornará nem verá a terra onde nasceu.
11 For thus saith Jehovah concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, who went forth out of this place: He shall not return thither any more;
11 Porque assim diz o Senhor acerca de Salum, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, que reinou em lugar de Josias, seu pai, e que saiu deste lugar: Nunca mais ali tornará.
12 for he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
12 Mas no lugar para onde o levaram cativo ali morrerá, e nunca mais verá esta terra.
13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his upper chambers by injustice; that taketh his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not his earning;
13 Ai daquele que edifica a sua casa com injustiça, e os seus aposentos sem direito, que se serve do serviço do seu próximo sem remunerá-lo, e não lhe dá o salário do seu trabalho.
14 that saith, I will build me a wide house, and spacious upper chambers; and he cutteth out for himself windows; and it is wainscoted with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
14 Que diz: Edificarei para mim uma casa espaçosa, e aposentos largos; e que lhe abre janelas, forrando-a de cedro, e pintando-a de vermelhão.
15 Shalt thou reign, because thou viest with the cedar? Did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice? Then it was well with him.
15 Porventura reinarás tu, porque te encerras em cedro? Acaso teu pai não comeu e bebeu, e não praticou o juízo e a justiça? Por isso lhe sucedeu bem.
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Was not this to know me? saith Jehovah.
16 Julgou a causa do aflito e necessitado; então lhe sucedeu bem; porventura não é isto conhecer-me? diz o Senhor.
17 But thine eyes and thy heart are only on thine extortion, and on the blood of the innocent, to shed it, and on oppression and on violence, to do it.
17 Mas os teus olhos e o teu coração não atentam senão para a tua avareza, e para derramar sangue inocente, e para praticar a opressão, e a violência.
18 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah: They shall not lament for him, Ah, my brother! or, Ah, sister! They shall not lament for him, Ah, lord! or Ah, his glory!
18 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR acerca de Jeoiaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá: Não o lamentarão, dizendo: Ai, meu irmão, ou ai, minha irmã! Nem o lamentarão, dizendo: Ai, senhor, ou, ai, sua glória!
19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, dragged along and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
19 Em sepultura de jumento será sepultado, sendo arrastado e lançado para bem longe, fora das portas de Jerusalém.
20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and give forth thy voice in Bashan, and cry from {the heights of} Abarim: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
20 Sobe ao Líbano, e clama, e levanta a tua voz em Basã, e clama desde Abarim; porque estão destruídos todos os teus namorados.
21 I spoke unto thee in thy prosperity; {but} thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy way from thy youth, that thou hearkenedst not unto my voice.
21 Falei contigo na tua prosperidade, mas tu disseste: Não ouvirei. Este tem sido o teu caminho, desde a tua mocidade, pois nunca deste ouvidos à minha voz.
22 The wind shall feed on all thy shepherds, and thy lovers shall go into captivity; surely, then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
22 O vento apascentará a todos os teus pastores, e os teus namorados irão para o cativeiro; certamente então te confundirás, e te envergonharás por causa de toda a tua maldade.
23 Thou inhabitress of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how pitiful shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, pain as of a woman in travail!
23 Ó tu, que habitas no Líbano e fazes o teu ninho nos cedros, quão lastimada serás quando te vierem as dores e os ais como da que está de parto.
24 {As} I live, saith Jehovah, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, were a signet upon my right hand, yet will I pluck thee thence;
24 Vivo eu, diz o Senhor, que ainda que Conias, filho de Jeoiaquim, rei de Judá, fosse o anel do selo na minha mão direita, contudo dali te arrancaria.
25 and I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them before whom thou art afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
25 E entregar-te-ei na mão dos que buscam a tua vida, e na mão daqueles diante de quem tu temes, a saber, na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de babilônia, e na mão dos caldeus.
26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
26 E lançar-te-ei, a ti e à tua mãe que te deu à luz, para uma terra estranha, em que não nasceste, e ali morrereis.
27 And into the land whereunto they lift up their souls to return, thither shall they not return.
27 Mas à terra, para a qual eles com toda a alma desejam voltar, para lá não voltarão.
28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken vase? a vessel wherein is no delight? Wherefore are they thrown out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
28 É, pois, este homem Conias um ídolo desprezado e quebrado, ou um vaso de que ninguém se agrada? Por que razão foram arremessados fora, ele e a sua geração, e arrojados para uma terra que não conhecem?
29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Jehovah!
29 Ó terra, terra, terra! Ouve a palavra do Senhor.
30 Thus saith Jehovah: Write this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days; for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
30 Assim diz o Senhor: Escrevei que este homem está privado de filhos, homem que não prosperará nos seus dias; porque nenhum da sua geração prosperará, para se assentar no trono de Davi, e reinar ainda em Judá.
