1 In those days Hezekiah was sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, Thus saith Jehovah: Set thy house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
1 Naqueles dias, Ezequias adoeceu de uma enfermidade mortal; veio ter com ele o profeta Isaías, filho de Amoz, e lhe disse: Assim diz o Senhor : Põe em ordem a tua casa, porque morrerás e não viverás.
2 And Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to Jehovah,
2 Então, virou Ezequias o rosto para a parede e orou ao Senhor .
3 and said, Ah, Jehovah, remember, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept much.
3 E disse: Lembra-te, Senhor , peço-te, de que andei diante de ti com fidelidade, com inteireza de coração e fiz o que era reto aos teus olhos; e chorou muitíssimo.
4 And the word of Jehovah came to Isaiah, saying,
4 Então, veio a palavra do Senhor a Isaías, dizendo:
5 Go and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add to thy days fifteen years.
5 Vai e dize a Ezequias: Assim diz o Senhor , o Deus de Davi, teu pai: Ouvi a tua oração e vi as tuas lágrimas; acrescentarei, pois, aos teus dias quinze anos.
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.
6 Livrar-te-ei das mãos do rei da Assíria, a ti e a esta cidade, e defenderei esta cidade.
7 And this {shall be} the sign to thee from Jehovah, that Jehovah will do this thing that he hath spoken:
7 Ser-te-á isto da parte do Senhor como sinal de que o Senhor cumprirá esta palavra que falou:
8 behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees which hath gone down with the sun on the dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned on the dial ten degrees, by which it had gone down.
8 eis que farei retroceder dez graus a sombra lançada pelo sol declinante no relógio de Acaz. Assim, retrocedeu o sol os dez graus que já havia declinado.
9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick and had recovered from his sickness:
9 Cântico de Ezequias, rei de Judá, depois de ter estado doente e se ter restabelecido:
10 I said, In the meridian of my days I shall go to the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the rest of my years.
10 Eu disse: Em pleno vigor de meus dias, hei de entrar nas portas do além; roubado estou do resto dos meus anos.
11 I said, I shall not see Jah, Jah in the land of the living. With those who dwell where all has ceased to be, I shall behold man no more.
11 Eu disse: já não verei o Senhor na terra dos viventes; jamais verei homem algum entre os moradores do mundo.
12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent. I have cut off like a weaver my life. He separateth me from the thrum: -from day to night thou wilt make an end of me.
12 A minha habitação foi arrancada e removida para longe de mim, como a tenda de um pastor; tu, como tecelão, me cortarás a vida da urdidura, do dia para a noite darás cabo de mim.
13 I kept still until the morning; ...as a lion, so doth he break all my bones. From day to night thou wilt make an end of me.
13 Espero com paciência até à madrugada, mas ele, como leão, me quebrou todos os ossos; do dia para a noite darás cabo de mim.
14 Like a swallow {or} a crane, so did I chatter; I mourned as a dove; mine eyes failed {with looking} upward: Lord, I am oppressed; undertake for me.
14 Como a andorinha ou o grou, assim eu chilreava e gemia como a pomba; os meus olhos se cansavam de olhar para cima. Ó Senhor, ando oprimido, responde tu por mim.
15 What shall I say? He hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done {it}. I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.
15 Que direi? Como prometeu, assim me fez; passarei tranquilamente por todos os meus anos, depois desta amargura da minha alma.
16 Lord, by these things {men} live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit; and thou hast recovered me, and made me to live.
16 Senhor, por estas disposições tuas vivem os homens, e inteiramente delas depende o meu espírito; portanto, restaura-me a saúde e faze-me viver.
17 Behold, instead of peace I had bitterness upon bitterness; but thou hast in love delivered my soul from the pit of destruction; for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
17 Eis que foi para minha paz que tive eu grande amargura; tu, porém, amaste a minha alma e a livraste da cova da corrupção, porque lançaste para trás de ti todos os meus pecados.
18 For not Sheol shall praise thee, nor death celebrate thee; they that go down into the pit do not hope for thy truth.
18 A sepultura não te pode louvar, nem a morte glorificar-te; não esperam em tua fidelidade os que descem à cova.
19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
19 Os vivos, somente os vivos, esses te louvam como hoje eu o faço; o pai fará notória aos filhos a tua fidelidade.
20 Jehovah was {purposed} to save me. -And we will play upon my stringed instruments all the days of our life, in the house of Jehovah.
20 O Senhor veio salvar-me; pelo que, tangendo os instrumentos de cordas, nós o louvaremos todos os dias de nossa vida, na Casa do
21 Now Isaiah had said, Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a plaster upon the boil, and he shall recover.
21 Ora, Isaías dissera: Tome-se uma pasta de figos e ponha-se como emplasto sobre a úlcera; e ele recuperará a saúde.
22 And Hezekiah had said, What is the sign that I shall go up into the house of Jehovah?
22 Também dissera Ezequias: Qual será o sinal de que hei de subir à Casa do Senhor ?
