1 The burden of Moab: For in the night of being laid waste, Ar of Moab is destroyed; for in the night of being laid waste, Kir of Moab is destroyed!
1 Peso de Moabe. Certamente, em uma noite, foi destruída Ar de Moabe e foi desfeita; certamente, em uma noite, foi destruída Quir de Moabe e foi desfeita.
2 He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, to the high places, to weep; Moab howleth over Nebo, and over Medeba; on all their heads is baldness, every beard is cut off.
2 Vai subindo a Bajite, e a Dibom, e aos lugares altos, a chorar; por Nebo e por Medeba, Moabe uivará; todas as cabeças ficarão calvas, e toda barba será rapada.
3 In their streets they are girded with sackcloth; on their roofs, and in their broadways, every one howleth, melted into tears.
3 Cingiram-se de panos de saco nas suas ruas; nos seus terraços e nas suas praças, todos andam uivando e choram abundantemente.
4 And Heshbon crieth, and Elealeh: their voice is heard unto Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out: his soul trembleth in him.
4 Assim Hesbom, como Eleale, anda gritando; até Jaza se ouve a sua voz; por isso, os armados de Moabe clamam; a sua alma treme dentro deles.
5 My heart crieth out for Moab; their fugitives {have fled} unto Zoar, unto Eglath-Sheli-shijah: for by the ascent of Luhith, with weeping they go up by it; for in the way of Horonaim they raise up a cry of destruction.
5 O meu coração clama por causa de Moabe; fugiram os seus nobres para Zoar, como a novilha de três anos, porque vão chorando pela subida de Luíte, porque, no caminho de Horonaim, levantam um lastimoso pranto.
6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate; for the herbage is withered away, the grass hath failed, there is no green thing.
6 Porque as águas de Ninrim serão pura assolação; porque se secou o feno, definhou a erva, e não há verdura alguma.
7 Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, do they carry away to the torrent of the willows.
7 Pelo que a abundância que ajuntaram e o que guardaram, ao ribeiro dos salgueiros, o levarão.
8 For the cry goeth round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beer-elim.
8 Porque o pranto rodeará os limites de Moabe; até Eglaim chegará o seu clamor, e ainda até Beer-Elim chegará o seu rugido.
9 For the waters of Dimon are full of blood, for I will lay yet more upon Dimon: a lion upon them that are escaped of Moab, and upon that which remaineth of the land.
9 Porquanto as águas de Dimom estão cheias de sangue, porque ainda acrescentarei mais a Dimom: leões contra aqueles que escaparem de Moabe e contra as relíquias da terra.
