1 And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them; and David took the power of the capital out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 E, depois disso, sucedeu que Davi feriu os filisteus, e os subjugou; e Davi tomou Metegue-Amá da mão dos filisteus.
2 And he smote the Moabites, and measured them with a line, making them lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David's servants, {and} brought gifts.
2 E ele feriu Moabe, e os mediu com uma linha, lançando-os ao chão; e com duas linhas para os matar, e com uma linha inteira para manter vivo. E, assim, os moabitas se tornaram servos de Davi, e traziam presentes.
3 And David smote Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion by the river Euphrates.
3 Davi feriu também Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá, quando ele foi recuperar a sua fronteira junto ao rio Eufrates.
4 And David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David houghed all the chariot {horses}, but reserved of them {for} a hundred chariots.
4 E Davi tomou dele mil carruagens, e setecentos cavaleiros, e vinte mil homens a pé; e Davi jarretou todos os cavalos de carruagens, mas desses reservou cem carruagens.
5 And the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, and David smote of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.
5 E quando os sírios de Damasco vieram para socorrer Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, Davi matou vinte e dois mil homens dos sírios.
6 And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, {and} brought gifts. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.
6 Então, Davi pôs guarnições na Síria de Damasco; e os sírios se tornaram servos de Davi, e trouxeram presentes. E o SENHOR preservava Davi onde quer que ele fosse.
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
7 E Davi tomou os escudos de ouro que estavam sobre os servos de Hadadezer, e os trouxe para Jerusalém.
8 And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much bronze.
8 E de Betá, e de Berotai, cidades de Hadadezer, o rei Davi tomou uma quantidade mui grande de bronze.
9 And Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the forces of Hadadezer;
9 Quando Toí, rei de Hamate, ouviu que Davi havia ferido todo o exército de Hadadezer,
10 and Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to inquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him; for Hadadezer was continually at war with Toi. And he brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.
10 Toí então enviou Jorão, o seu filho, até o rei Davi para saudá-lo e bendizê-lo, porque ele havia lutado contra Hadadezer e ferido a ele; pois Hadadezer teve guerras com Toí. E Jorão trouxe consigo vasos de prata, e vasos de ouro, e vasos de bronze;
11 Them also king David dedicated to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he had dedicated of all the nations that he had subdued:
11 os quais o rei Davi também dedicou ao SENHOR, com a prata e o ouro que ele havia dedicado de todas as nações que ele havia subjugado;
12 of the Syrians, and of the Moabites, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of the Amalekites, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
12 da Síria, e de Moabe, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus, e de Amaleque, e do despojo de Hadadezer, o filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá.
13 And David made him a name when he returned, after he had smitten the Syrians in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand {men}.
13 E Davi fez para si um nome quando retornou do combate aos sírios no vale do sal, sendo dezoito mil homens.
14 And he put garrisons in Edom: throughout Edom did he put garrisons; and all they of Edom became servants to David. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.
14 E ele pôs guarnições em Edom; ao longo de todo Edom ele pôs guarnições, e todos os de Edom se tornaram servos de Davi. E o SENHOR preservava Davi onde quer que ele fosse.
15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice to all his people.
15 E Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel; e Davi executou juízo e justiça para todo o seu povo.
16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was chronicler;
16 E Joabe, o filho de Zeruia, estava sobre o exército; e Josafá, o filho de Ailude, era o escrivão;
17 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was scribe;
17 e Zadoque, o filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, o filho de Abiatar, eram os sacerdotes; e Seraías era o escriba;
18 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
18 e Benaia, o filho de Joiada, estava sobre os quereteus, e sobre os peleteus; e os filhos de Davi eram soberanos maiorais.
