1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel, for nine years.
1 No décimo segundo ano de Acaz, rei de Judá, Oseias, o filho de Elá, começou a reinar em Samaria sobre Israel: nove anos.
2 And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, but not as the kings of Israel that had been before him.
2 E ele fez aquilo que era mau à vista do SENHOR, mas não como os reis de Israel que foram antes dele.
3 Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria, and Hoshea became his servant, and tendered him presents.
3 Contra ele subiu Salmaneser, rei da Assíria; e Oseias se tornou seu servo, e lhe dava presentes.
4 But the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and sent up no present to the king of Assyria as {he had done} from year to year. And the king of Assyria shut him up and bound him in prison.
4 E o rei da Assíria achou conspiração em Oseias; porque ele havia enviado mensageiros a Sô, rei do Egito, e não trouxe presente algum ao rei da Assíria, como ele havia feito ano a ano; portanto, o rei da Assíria o encarcerou, e o trancafiou na prisão.
5 And the king of Assyria overran the whole land, and went up against Samaria, and besieged it three years.
5 Então, o rei da Assíria subiu por toda a terra, e subiu para Samaria, e a sitiou três anos.
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and by the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
6 No nono ano de Oseias, o rei da Assíria tomou Samaria, e conduziu Israel para a Assíria, e os assentou em Hala e em Habor junto ao rio de Gozã, e nas cidades dos medos.
7 And so it was, because the children of Israel had sinned against Jehovah their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods;
7 Pois assim foi, que os filhos de Israel haviam pecado contra o SENHOR seu Deus, o qual lhes tinha feito subir da terra do Egito, de debaixo da mão de Faraó, rei do Egito, e haviam temido outros deuses,
8 and they walked in the statutes of the nations that Jehovah had dispossessed from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
8 e andado nos estatutos dos pagãos, aos quais o SENHOR expulsou de diante dos filhos de Israel, e dos reis de Israel, os quais eles haviam feito.
9 And the children of Israel did secretly against Jehovah their God things that were not right; and they built them high places in all their cities, from the watchmen's tower to the fortified city.
9 E os filhos de Israel fizeram secretamente aquelas coisas que não eram retas, contra o SENHOR seu Deus, e edificaram para si lugares altos em todas as suas cidades, desde a torre dos atalaias, até a cidade fortificada.
10 And they set them up columns and Asherahs on every high hill and under every green tree;
10 E eles ergueram para si imagens e bosques em todo outeiro alto, e debaixo de toda árvore verde;
11 and there they burned incense on all the high places, as did the nations that Jehovah had carried away from before them, and they wrought wicked things to provoke Jehovah to anger;
11 e ali queimaram incenso em todos os lugares altos, como fizeram os pagãos aos quais o SENHOR levou para longe deles; e operaram coisas malignas para provocar o SENHOR à ira;
12 and they served idols, as to which Jehovah had said to them, Ye shall not do this thing.
12 porque eles serviram aos ídolos, dos quais o SENHOR lhes havia dito: Vós não fareis esta coisa.
13 And Jehovah testified against Israel and against Judah, by all the prophets, all the seers, saying, Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments, my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you through my servants the prophets.
13 Contudo, o SENHOR testificou contra Israel, e contra Judá, por intermédio de todos os profetas, e de todos os videntes, dizendo: Volvei-vos dos vossos caminhos maus, e guardeis os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos, segundo toda a lei que ordenei aos vossos pais, e que enviei a vós por intermédio dos meus servos, os profetas.
14 But they would not hear, and hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, who did not believe in Jehovah their God.
14 Não obstante, eles não quiseram ouvir, mas endureceram o pescoço, como o pescoço dos seus pais, que não creram no SENHOR seu Deus.
15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant which he had made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he had testified unto them; and they followed vanity and became vain, and {went} after the nations that were round about them, concerning whom Jehovah had charged them that they should not do like them.
15 E rejeitaram os seus estatutos, e o seu pacto que ele fez com os seus pais, e os seus testemunhos, os quais testificou contra eles; e seguiram a vaidade, e se tornaram vãos, e foram atrás dos pagãos que estavam ao seu redor, acerca dos quais o SENHOR lhes havia ordenado de que não deveriam fazer como eles.
16 And they forsook all the commandments of Jehovah their God, and made them molten images, two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshipped all the host of the heavens, and served Baal;
16 E eles abandonaram todos os mandamentos do SENHOR seu Deus, e fizeram para si imagens derretidas, dois bezerros, e fizeram um bosque, e adoraram todo o exército do céu, e serviram a Baal.
17 and they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.
17 E eles fizeram com que os seus filhos e suas filhas passassem através do fogo, e usaram adivinhação e encantamento, e venderam-se para fazer o mal à vista do SENHOR, para provocá-lo à ira.
18 Therefore Jehovah was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there remained but the tribe of Judah only.
18 Portanto, o SENHOR ficou mui irado com Israel, e removeu-os da sua vista; não houve nenhum restante, senão a tribo de Judá.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of Jehovah their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they had made.
19 Além disso, Judá não guardou os mandamentos do SENHOR seu Deus, mas andou nos estatutos de Israel, os quais eles fizeram.
20 And Jehovah rejected all the seed of Israel; and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
20 E o SENHOR rejeitou toda a semente de Israel, e os afligiu, e os entregou na mão de espoliadores, até que ele lhes lançou fora da sua vista.
21 For Israel had rent {the kingdom} from the house of David; and they had made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king; and Jeroboam violently turned Israel from following Jehovah, and made them sin a great sin.
21 Porque ele rasgou Israel da casa de Davi; e eles fizeram de Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, rei; e Jeroboão desviou Israel de seguir o SENHOR, e fê-los pecar um grande pecado.
22 And the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they did not depart from them:
22 Porquanto os filhos de Israel andaram em todos os pecados de Jeroboão, os quais ele cometeu; deles não se apartaram;
23 until Jehovah had removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said through all his servants the prophets; and Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria, unto this day.
23 até que o SENHOR removeu Israel da sua vista, segundo ele tinha dito por intermédio de todos os seus servos, os profetas. Assim, Israel foi trasladado da sua própria terra para a Assíria até este dia.
24 And the king of Assyria brought {people} from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and made them dwell in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in its cities.
24 E o rei da Assíria trouxe homens de Babilônia, e de Cuta, e de Ava, e de Hamate, e de Sefarvaim, e os colocou nas cidades de Samaria, no lugar dos filhos de Israel; e eles tomaram posse de Samaria, e habitaram nas suas cidades.
25 And so it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not Jehovah; and Jehovah sent lions among them, which killed {some} of them.
25 E assim foi no princípio da sua habitação ali, que eles não temiam o SENHOR; por isso o SENHOR enviou leões para o meio deles, os quais mataram a alguns deles.
26 And they spoke to the king of Assyria saying, The nations that thou hast removed and made to dwell in the cities of Samaria know not the manner of the god of the land; therefore he has sent lions among them, and behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the god of the land.
26 Porquanto eles falaram ao rei da Assíria, dizendo: As nações que tu tens removido, e assentado nas cidades de Samaria, não conhecem o costume do Deus da terra; por isso ele tem enviado leões para o meio deles, e, eis que eles os matam porque eles não conhecem o costume do Deus da terra.
27 And the king of Assyria commanded saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye have brought away from thence; and let them go and abide there, and let him teach them the manner of the god of the land.
27 Então, o rei da Assíria ordenou, dizendo: Levai para lá um dos sacerdotes que trouxestes de lá; e deixe-os ir e habite ali, e ensine-lhes o costume do Deus dessa terra.
28 Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and abode in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear Jehovah.
28 Então, um dos sacerdotes que eles haviam levado para Samaria veio e habitou em Betel, e ensinou-lhes como eles deveriam temer o SENHOR.
29 And every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places that the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they dwelt.
29 Todavia, cada nação fazia os seus próprios deuses, e os colocava nas casas dos lugares altos que os samaritanos haviam feito, cada nação nas suas cidades nas quais habitavam.
30 And the people of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the people of Cuth made Nergal, and the people of Hamath made Ashima,
30 E os homens de Babilônia fizeram Sucote-Benote, e os homens de Cute fizeram Nergal, e os homens de Hamate fizeram Asima;
31 and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech the gods of Sepharvaim.
31 e os aveus fizeram Nibaz e Tartaque, e os sefarvitas queimavam os seus filhos no fogo para Adrameleque e Anameleque, os deuses de Sefarvaim.
32 So they feared Jehovah, and made to themselves from all classes of them priests of the high places, who offered {sacrifices} for them in the houses of the high places.
32 Assim, eles temeram ao SENHOR, e fizeram para si, dos menores deles, sacerdotes dos lugares altos, os quais sacrificavam para eles nas casas dos lugares altos.
33 They feared Jehovah, and served their own gods after the manner of the nations, whence they had been carried away.
33 Eles temiam ao SENHOR, e serviam aos seus próprios deuses, segundo o costume das nações de onde haviam sido levados cativos.
34 To this day they do after their former customs: they fear not Jehovah, neither do they after their statutes or after their ordinances, nor after the law and commandment that Jehovah commanded the sons of Jacob, whom he named Israel.
34 Até este dia eles fazem segundo os costumes anteriores. Eles não temem ao SENHOR, nem fazem segundo os seus estatutos, ou segundo as suas ordenanças, ou segundo a lei e o mandamento que o SENHOR ordenou aos filhos de Jacó, a quem chamou de Israel;
35 And Jehovah had made a covenant with them, and charged them saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow down yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;
35 com quem o SENHOR havia feito um pacto, e lhes incumbiu, dizendo: Vós não temereis outros deuses, nem vos curvareis a eles, nem os servireis, tampouco sacrificareis a eles.
36 but Jehovah alone, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched-out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
36 Porém o SENHOR, que vos fez subir da terra do Egito com grande poder e braço estendido, a ele temereis, e a ele adorareis, e a ele fareis sacrifício.
37 And the statutes and the ordinances and the law, and the commandment which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
37 E os estatutos, e as ordenanças, e a lei, e o mandamento, o qual para vós escreveu, vós observareis para cumpri-los pela eternidade; e não temereis outros deuses.
38 And ye shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you, neither shall ye fear other gods;
38 E o pacto que tenho feito convosco, vós não esquecereis; nem temereis outros deuses.
39 but ye shall fear Jehovah your God, and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
39 Porém, o SENHOR vosso Deus temereis; e ele vos livrará da mão de todos os vossos inimigos.
40 And they did not hearken, but did after their former customs.
40 Todavia eles não atentaram, mas fizeram segundo o seu costume anterior.
41 And these nations feared Jehovah, and served their graven images, both their children and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they, unto this day.
41 Assim, estas nações temiam o SENHOR, e serviam as suas imagens esculpidas, tanto os seus filhos, quanto os filhos dos seus filhos; como fizeram os seus pais, assim também fazem eles até este dia.
