1 And Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of Jehovah, and a house for his kingdom.
1 Resolveu Salomão edificar a casa ao nome do Senhor , como também casa para o seu reino.
2 And Solomon numbered seventy thousand men to bear burdens, and eighty thousand stone-masons in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred to superintend them.
2 Designou Salomão setenta mil homens para levarem as cargas, oitenta mil, para talharem pedras nas montanhas e três mil e seiscentos, para dirigirem a obra.
3 And Solomon sent to Huram king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein {so do for me}.
3 Salomão mandou dizer a Hirão, rei de Tiro: Como procedeste para com Davi, meu pai, e lhe mandaste cedros, para edificar a casa em que morasse, assim também procede comigo.
4 Behold, I build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God to dedicate it to him, to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual arrangement {of the shewbread}, and for the morning and evening burnt-offerings {and} on the sabbaths and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Jehovah our God. This is {an ordinance} for ever to Israel.
4 Eis que estou para edificar a casa ao nome do Senhor , meu Deus, e lha consagrar, para queimar perante ele incenso aromático, e lhe apresentar o pão contínuo da proposição e os holocaustos da manhã e da tarde, nos sábados, nas Festas da Lua Nova e nas festividades do Senhor , nosso Deus; o que é obrigação perpétua para Israel.
5 And the house that I will build is great; for great is our God above all gods.
5 A casa que edificarei há de ser grande, porque o nosso Deus é maior do que todos os deuses.
6 But who is able to build him a house, seeing the heavens and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him? And who am I that I should build him a house, except to burn sacrifice before him?
6 No entanto, quem seria capaz de lhe edificar a casa, visto que os céus e até os céus dos céus o não podem conter? E quem sou eu para lhe edificar a casa, senão para queimar incenso perante ele?
7 And now send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, and in iron, and in purple and crimson and blue, and experienced in carving, besides the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.
7 Manda-me, pois, agora, um homem que saiba trabalhar em ouro, em prata, em bronze, em ferro, em obras de púrpura, de carmesim e de pano azul; que saiba fazer obras de entalhe juntamente com os peritos que estão comigo em Judá e em Jerusalém, os quais Davi, meu pai, empregou.
8 Send me also cedar-trees, cypress-trees, and sandal-wood trees, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants are experienced in cutting timber in Lebanon; and behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,
8 Manda-me também madeira de cedros, ciprestes e sândalo do Líbano; porque bem sei que os teus servos sabem cortar madeira no Líbano. Eis que os meus servos estarão com os teus,
9 even to prepare me timber in abundance: for the house that I build shall be great and wonderful.
9 para me prepararem muita madeira; porque a casa que edificarei há de ser grande e maravilhosa.
10 And behold, I will give to thy servants the hewers that fell timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.
10 Aos teus servos, cortadores da madeira, darei vinte mil coros de trigo batido, vinte mil coros de cevada, vinte mil batos de vinho e vinte mil batos de azeite.
11 And Huram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because Jehovah loved his people, he made thee king over them.
11 Hirão, rei de Tiro, respondeu por uma carta que enviou a Salomão, dizendo: Porquanto o Senhor ama ao seu povo, te constituiu rei sobre ele.
12 And Huram said, Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, that made the heavens and the earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, who will build a house for Jehovah and a house for his kingdom.
12 Disse mais Hirão: Bendito seja o Senhor , Deus de Israel, que fez os céus e a terra; que deu ao rei Davi um filho sábio, dotado de discrição e entendimento, que edifique casa ao Senhor e para o seu próprio reino.
13 And now, I send a skilful man, endued with understanding, Huram Abi,
13 Agora, pois, envio um homem sábio de grande entendimento, a saber, Hirão-Abi,
14 the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and whose father was a man of Tyre, experienced in working in gold, and in silver, in bronze, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in byssus, and in crimson, and for doing any manner of engraving, and for inventing every device which shall be put to him, besides thy skilful men, and the skilful men of my lord David thy father.
14 filho de uma mulher das filhas de Dã e cujo pai foi homem de Tiro; ele sabe lavrar em ouro, em prata, em bronze, em ferro, em pedras e em madeira, em obras de púrpura, de pano azul, e de linho fino e em obras de carmesim; e é hábil para toda obra de entalhe e para elaborar qualquer plano que se lhe proponha, juntamente com os teus peritos e os peritos de Davi, meu senhor, teu pai.
15 And now the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants.
15 Agora, pois, mande o meu senhor para os seus servos o trigo, a cevada, o azeite e o vinho de que falou.
16 And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee {in} floats by sea to Joppa, and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.
16 E nós cortaremos tanta madeira no Líbano quanta houveres mister e ta faremos chegar em jangadas, pelo mar, a Jope, e tu a farás subir a Jerusalém.
17 And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the account that David his father had taken of them, and there were found a hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.
17 Salomão levantou o censo de todos os homens estrangeiros que havia na terra de Israel, segundo o censo que fizera Davi, seu pai; e acharam-se cento e cinquenta e três mil e seiscentos.
18 And he set seventy thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand to be stone-masons in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred overseers to set the people to work.
18 Designou deles setenta mil para levarem as cargas, oitenta mil para talharem pedras nas montanhas, como também três mil e seiscentos para dirigirem o trabalho do povo.
