2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 你们的美丽不应该来自外在的装饰，奇异的发式、金银珠宝和华丽的衣裳。
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 相反，你们应该有内在的美－那永不会消失的温和恬静的性情之美。上帝器重的是这种美。
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 从前那些将希望寄托于上帝身上的圣洁女子，就是这样使自己美丽的。她们顺从自己的丈夫，
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 正如撒拉顺从她的丈夫亚伯拉罕，称他为主人一样。如果你们一贯做好事，并且无所畏惧，你们就是撒拉的女儿。
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 同样，丈夫和妻子生活在一起时，要体贴她们；尊重她们，因为她们在性别上比你们软弱。但是，上帝赐给你们妻子的恩典与他赐给你们的是一样的，这恩典赐予了真正的生命。这么做，你们的祷告就不会被拒绝了。
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 总而言之，你们所有的人都应该和睦相处，互相理解，要象爱兄弟一样彼此相爱。要仁慈，要谦卑。

9 不要以恶报恶，或以辱骂还辱骂，相反，你们应该请求上帝赐福给他。因为这是上帝召唤你们去做的，以便你们可以领受到上帝的祝福。
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 正如《经》上所说的那样：
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 他必须停止弃恶从善
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 因为主垂看好人，
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 如果你们总是尽力行善，那么就没有人能真正伤害你们。
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 尽管你们为义而受苦，你们也是有福的。“不要害怕那些使你们受难的人；不要胆怯。”
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 要在内心敬畏基督，奉他为主。如果有人要求你们解释你们怀有的盼望，你们要随时准备做出回答，
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 但是在回答他们时，要恭敬温和。要保持清白的良心，当你们受到诽谤时，让那些诋毁你们在基督里行善的人感到羞愧。
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 如果因行善而遭受到痛苦，是上帝的旨意，这比做恶而遭受到痛苦要强。
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 基督为你们而死，一劳永逸地付清了你们所有人的罪。他是无辜的，他为了你们这些有罪的人而死，以便把你们都带到上帝那里。虽然他的肉体遭到了杀害，但是在灵魂上，他却复活了。
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 在这灵中，他去向那些受囚禁的灵传道。
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 他们是那些在很久以前，诺亚时代就拒绝服从上帝的灵。当诺亚建造方舟时，上帝曾耐心地等待着他们，但是却只有八个人登上了方舟，在水中得救。
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 这水就象征着现在拯救你们的洗礼。洗礼并不是洗涤你们身体的污垢，而是请求上帝赐予一颗无愧的良心。这一切都是通过耶稣基督从死里复活而实现的。
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 基督已经进了天堂，在上帝的右侧，统治着天使、权威和势力。
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
