1 But there shall be no gloom to her that was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time hath he made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
1 Apesar disso, a escuridão não será tal, como foi em sua aflição; quando no passado ele levemente afligiu a terra de Zebulom e a terra de Naftali e, posteriormente e depois a afligiu mais gravemente pelo caminho do mar, além do Jordão, na Galileia das nações.
2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
2 O povo que caminhou na escuridão tem visto uma grande luz: aqueles que habitam na terra da sombra da morte, sobre eles a luz tem brilhado.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast increased their joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
3 Tu tens multiplicado a nação e não aumentado a alegria: eles se alegram ante a tua presença como a alegria observada na colheita, e como os homens regozijam-se quando eles dividem o despojo.
4 For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, thou hast broken as in the day of Midian.
4 Porque tu tens quebrado o jugo da sua carga e a canga do seu ombro, a vara do seu opressor, como no dia de Midiã.
5 For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire.
5 Porque toda batalha do guerreiro é com barulho confuso e vestes roladas em sangue. Porém isto será com queimadura e combustível de fogo.
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
6 Porque para nós um menino é nascido, para nós um filho é dado. E o governo estará sobre seu ombro, e seu nome será chamado Maravilhoso, Conselheiro, O poderoso Deus, O Pai eterno, O Príncipe de Paz.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.
7 E o aumento de seu governo e paz não haverá fim, sobre o trono de Davi e sobre seu reino, para comandá-lo e estabelecê-lo com julgamento e com justiça, de agora em diante, para sempre. O zelo do SENHOR dos Exércitos realizará isto.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
8 O Senhor enviou uma palavra na direção de Jacó, e ela tem lançado luz sobre Israel.
9 And all the people shall know,
9 E todo o povo saberá, Efraim e o habitante de Samaria, que diz no orgulho e firmeza de coração,
10 The bricks are fallen, but we will build with hewn stone; the sycomores are cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.
10 os tijolos estão caídos, porém nós construiremos com pedras talhadas. Os sicômoros estão cortados, porém nós os trocaremos por cedros.
11 Therefore Jehovah will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin, and will stir up his enemies,
11 Portanto, o SENHOR fortalecerá os adversários de Rezim contra ele e unirá os inimigos dele entre si.
12 the Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
12 Os Sírios adiante, e os filisteus atrás, e eles devorarão Israel com boca aberta. Apesar disto tudo a ira dele não está desviada, porém sua mão está estendida, imóvel.
13 Yet the people have not turned unto him that smote them, neither have they sought Jehovah of hosts.
13 Pois o povo não se volta em direção a ele, que os afligiu, nem buscam eles o SENHOR dos Exércitos.
14 Therefore Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, in one day.
14 Portanto, o SENHOR cortará de Israel cabeça e cauda, galho e caule, em um dia.
15 The elder and the honorable man, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
15 O ancião e honrado, ele é a cabeça. E o profeta que ensina mentiras, ele é a cauda.
16 For they that lead this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
16 Porque os líderes deste povo os fazem errar e os que são guiados por eles são destruídos.
17 Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for every one is profane and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
17 Portanto, o Senhor não terá alegria em seus jovens, nem terá misericórdia dos seus órfãos de pai, e viúvas, porque cada um é um hipócrita, e um malfeitor, e toda boca fala loucura. Apesar disto tudo, a ira dele não está desviada, porém sua mão está estendida, imóvel,
18 For wickedness burneth as the fire; it devoureth the briers and thorns; yea, it kindleth in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
18 porque a perversidade queima como o fogo. Ela devorará os arbustos com espinhos e os espinheiros, e incendiará nas moitas da floresta. E eles elevar-se-ão como o levantar da fumaça.
19 Through the wrath of Jehovah of hosts is the land burnt up; and the people are as the fuel of fire: no man spareth his brother.
19 Por causa da ira do SENHOR dos Exércitos a terra está escurecida, e as pessoas serão como o combustível do fogo. Nenhum homem poupará seu irmão.
20 And one shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
20 E ele morderá sua mão direita, e estará faminto. E comerá a mão esquerda e eles não estarão satisfeitos. Eles comerão, cada homem, a carne de seu próprio braço.
21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
21 Manassés, Efraim; e Efraim, Manassés e eles juntamente serão contra Judá. Apesar disto tudo, a ira dele não está desviada, porém sua mão está estendida, imóvel.
