1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation will he appoint for walls and bulwarks.
1 Naquele dia, se entoará este cântico na terra de Judá: Temos uma cidade forte, na qual Deus põe a salvação como muralha e defesa.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth faith may enter in.
2 Abram os portões, para que entre a nação justa, que guarda a fidelidade.
3 Thou wilt keep
3 Tu, Senhor , conservarás em perfeita paz aquele cujo propósito é firme, porque ele confia em ti.
4 Trust ye in Jehovah for ever; for in Jehovah,
4 Confiem sempre no Senhor , porque o é uma rocha eterna.
5 For he hath brought down them that dwell on high, the lofty city: he layeth it low, he layeth it low even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
5 Ele derruba os que habitam no alto, na cidade elevada; derruba e humilha até o chão, até o pó.
6 The foot shall tread it down; even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
6 O pé a pisará; os pés dos aflitos, e os passos dos pobres.
7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou that art upright dost direct the path of the just.
7 A vereda do justo é plana; tu, que és justo, aplanas a vereda do justo.
8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; to thy name, even to thy memorial
8 Também através dos teus juízos, no teu nome e na tua memória está o desejo da nossa alma.
9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee earnestly: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
9 Com minha alma suspiro de noite por ti e, com o meu espírito dentro de mim, eu te busco ansiosamente. Porque, quando os teus juízos reinam na terra, os moradores do mundo aprendem a justiça.
10 Let favor be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal wrongfully, and will not behold the majesty of Jehovah.
10 Ainda que se mostre favor ao ímpio, nem por isso ele aprende a justiça; até na terra da retidão ele comete a iniquidade e não vê a majestade do
11 Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, yet they see not: but they shall see
11 Senhor , a tua mão está levantada, mas eles não a veem! Porém eles verão o teu zelo pelo povo e ficarão envergonhados. Que o teu furor, por causa dos teus adversários, os consuma.
12 Jehovah, thou wilt ordain peace for us; for thou hast also wrought all our works for us.
12 Senhor , concede-nos a paz, porque todas as nossas obras tu as fazes por nós.
13 O Jehovah our God, other lords besides thee have had dominion over us; but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
13 Ó Senhor , nosso Deus, outros senhores têm tido domínio sobre nós, mas nós louvamos unicamente o teu nome.
14 They are
14 Eles estão mortos, não voltarão a viver; são apenas sombras, não ressuscitarão. Porque tu os castigaste e destruíste, e apagaste completamente a lembrança deles.
15 Thou hast increased the nation, O Jehovah, thou hast increased the nation; thou art glorified; thou hast enlarged all the borders of the land.
15 Tu, Senhor , aumentaste o povo, aumentaste o povo e tens sido glorificado; alargaste todas as fronteiras do país.
16 Jehovah, in trouble have they visited thee; they poured out a prayer
16 Senhor , na angústia te buscaram; vindo sobre eles a tua correção, derramaram as suas orações.
17 Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain and crieth out in her pangs; so we have been before thee, O Jehovah.
17 Como a mulher grávida que vai dar à luz se contorce e grita de dor, assim estávamos nós na tua presença, ó
18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
18 Concebemos e nos contorcemos em dores de parto, mas o que demos à luz foi vento; não trouxemos à terra livramento algum, e não nasceram moradores do mundo.
19 Thy dead shall live; my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in the dust; for thy dew is
19 Os teus mortos e também o meu cadáver viverão e ressuscitarão. Despertem e cantem de alegria, vocês que habitam no pó, porque o teu orvalho, ó Deus, será como o orvalho de vida, e a terra dará à luz os seus mortos.
20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
20 Meu povo, entrem nos seus quartos e tranquem as portas; escondam-se por um momento, até que passe a ira.
21 For, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
21 Pois eis que o Senhor sai do seu lugar, para castigar a iniquidade dos moradores da terra. A terra deixará aparecer o sangue que embebeu e não encobrirá mais aqueles que foram mortos.
