1 ኢየሱስም መለሰ ደግሞም በምሳሌ ነገራቸው እንዲህም አለ።
1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:
2 መንግሥተ ሰማያት ለልጁ ሰርግ ያደረገ ንጉሥን ትመስላለች።
2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 የታደሙትንም ወደ ሰርጉ ይጠሩ ዘንድ ባሮቹን ላከ ሊመጡም አልወደዱም።
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
4 ደግሞ ሌሎችን ባሮች ልኮ። የታደሙትን። እነሆ፥ ድግሴን አዘጋጀሁ፥ ኮርማዎቼና የሰቡት ከብቶቼ ታርደዋል፥ ሁሉም ተዘጋጅቶአል፤ ወደ ሰርጉ ኑ በሉአቸው አለ።
4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 እነርሱ ግን ቸል ብለው አንዱ ወደ እርሻው፥ ሌላውም ወደ ንግዱ ሄደ፤
5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.
6 የቀሩትም ባሮቹን ይዘው አንገላቱአቸው ገደሉአቸውም።
6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.
7 ንጉሡም ተቈጣ፥ ጭፍሮቹንም ልኮ እነዚያን ገዳዮች አጠፋ፤ ከተማቸውንም አቃጠለ።
7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 በዚያን ጊዜ ባሮቹን። ሰርጉስ ተዘጋጅቶአል፥ ነገር ግን የታደሙት የማይገባቸው ሆኑ፤
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 እንግዲህ ወደ መንገድ መተላለፊያ ሄዳችሁ ያገኛችሁትን ሁሉ ወደ ሰርጉ ጥሩ አለ።
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 እነዚያም ባሮች ወደ መንገድ ወጥተው ያገኙትን ሁሉ ክፉዎችንም በጎዎችንም ሰበሰቡ፤ የሰርጉንም ቤት ተቀማጮች ሞሉት።
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 ንጉሡም የተቀመጡትን ለማየት በገባ ጊዜ በዚያ የሰርግ ልብስ ያለበሰ አንድ ሰው አየና። ወዳጄ ሆይ፥
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 የሰርግ ልብስ ሳትለብስ እንዴት ወደዚህ ገባህ? አለው እርሱም ዝም አለ።
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 በዚያን ጊዜ ንጉሡ አገልጋዮቹን። እጁንና እግሩን አስራችሁ በውጭ ወዳለው ጨለማ አውጡት፤ በዚያ ልቅሶና ጥርስ ማፋጨት ይሆናል አለ።
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 የተጠሩ ብዙዎች፥ የተመረጡ ግን ጥቂቶች ናቸውና።
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 ስለዚህ ፈሪሳውያን ሄዱና እንዴት አድርገው በነገር እንዲያጠምዱት ተማከሩ።

16 ደቀ መዛሙርታቸውንም ከሄሮድስ ወገን ጋር ላኩበት፥ እነርሱም። መምህር ሆይ፥ እውነተኛ እንደ ሆንህ በእውነትም የእግዚአብሔርን መንገድ እንድታስተምር እናውቃለን፥ ለማንምም አታደላም፥ የሰውን ፊት አትመለከትምና፤
16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;
17 እንግዲህ ምን ይመስልሃል? ንገረን ለቄሣር ግብር መስጠት ተፈቅዶአልን ወይስ አልተፈቀደም? አሉት።
17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
18 ኢየሱስም ክፋታቸውን አውቆ። እናንተ ግብዞች፥ ስለ ምን ትፈትኑኛላችሁ?
18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
19 የግብሩን ብር አሳዩኝ አለ። እነርሱም ዲናር አመጡለት።
19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.
20 እርሱም። ይህች መልክ ጽሕፈቲቱስ የማን ናት? አላቸው።
20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?
21 የቄሣር ነው አሉት። በዚያን ጊዜ። እንኪያስ የቄሣርን ለቄሣር የእግዚአብሔርንም ለእግዚአብሔር አስረክቡ አላቸው።
21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.
22 ይህንም ሰምተው ተደነቁ፥ ትተውትም ሄዱ።
22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
23 በዚያን ቀን። ትንሣኤ ሙታን የለም የሚሉ ሰዱቃውያን ወደ እርሱ ቀረቡ፥

24 እንዲህም ብለው ጠየቁት። መምህር ሆይ፥ ሙሴ አንድ ሰው ልጅ ሳይወልድ ሲሞት ወንድሙ ሚስቱን አግብቶ ለወንድሙ ዘር ይተካ አለ።
24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
25 ሰባት ወንድማማች በእኛ ዘንድ ነበሩ፤ ፊተኛውም ሚስት አግብቶ ሞተ፥ ዘርም ስለሌለው ሚስቱን ለወንድሙ ተወለት፤
25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
26 እንዲሁ ደግሞ ሁለተኛው ሦስተኛውም፥ እስከ ሰባተኛው ድረስ።
26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
27 ከሁሉም በኋላ ሴቲቱ ሞተች።
27 And last of all the woman also died.
28 ሁሉ አግብተዋታልና በትንሣኤ ቀንስ፥ ከሰባቱ ለማናቸው ሚስት ትሆናለች?
28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 ኢየሱስም መልሶ እንዲህ አላቸው። መጻሕፍትንና የእግዚአብሔርን ኃይል አታውቁምና ትስታላችሁ።
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 በትንሣኤስ እንደ እግዚአብሔር መላእክት በሰማይ ይሆናሉ እንጂ አያገቡም አይጋቡምም።
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
31 ሕዝቡም ይህን ሰምተው በትምህርቱ ተገረሙ።
31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:
32 — ausente —
32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.
33 — ausente —
33 E, ouvindo esta doutrina, as turbas se enchiam de grande admiração.
34 ፈሪሳውያንም ሰዱቃውያንን ዝም እንዳሰኛቸው በሰሙ ጊዜ አብረው ተሰበሰቡ።
34 Sabendo os fariseus que Jesus reduzira ao silêncio os saduceus, reuniram-se
35 ከእነርሱም አንድ ሕግ አዋቂ ሊፈትነው።
35 e um deles, doutor da lei, fez-lhe esta pergunta para pô-lo à prova:
36 መምህር ሆይ፥ ከሕግ ማናቸይቱ ትእዛዝ ታላቅ ናት? ብሎ ጠየቀው።
36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 ኢየሱስም እንዲህ አለው። ጌታ አምላክህን በፍጹም ልብህ በፍጹም ነፍስህም በፍጹም አሳብህም ውደድ።
37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.
38 ታላቂቱና ፊተኛይቱ ትእዛዝ ይህች ናት።
38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 ሁለተኛይቱም ይህችን ትመስላለች፥ እርስዋም። ባልንጀራህን እንደ ነፍስህ ውደድ የምትለው ናት።
39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.
40 በእነዚህ በሁለቱ ትእዛዛት ሕጉም ሁሉ ነቢያትም ተሰቅለዋል።
40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.
41 ዳዊትስ ጌታ ብሎ ከጠራው፥ እንዴት ልጁ ይሆናል? አላቸው።
41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 — ausente —
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 — ausente —
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 — ausente —
44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
45 — ausente —
45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
46 አንድም ቃል ስንኳ ይመልስለት ዘንድ የተቻለው የለም፥ ከዚያ ቀንም ጀምሮ ወደ ፊት ማንም ሊጠይቀው አልደፈረም።
46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
