¹ Elihu spoke moreover, and said,

¹ Em seguida Eliú disse:

² Think you this to be right, that you said, My righteousness is more than God'?

² “Jó, você não tem o direito de dizer que para Deus você é inocente

³ For you said, What advantage will it be to you? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

³ e também não pode perguntar assim: ‘Ó Deus, será que te sentes mal com o meu pecado? E que vantagem tenho se não pecar?’

⁴ I will answer you, and your companions with you.

⁴ Pois eu vou responder a você e também aos seus amigos.

⁵ Look to the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than you.

⁵ “Olhe para o céu e veja como as nuvens estão muito acima de você.

⁶ If you sin, what do you against him? or if your transgressions be multiplied, what do you to him?

¹⁶ Therefore does Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplies words without knowledge.
