Taroha Goro mana Usuusu Maea (AIA) vs VC
1 'Iniai o'asi ana, moi nugasi'i mwani maho ta'a'i. Moi abui pwapwaari'i ma'ua here 'onaa domou goro.
2 — ausente —
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 — ausente —
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Moi boi beia Araha. 'Iia na haua tanagia i tahi tarau. 'A 'onaai hau na 'iraaui sae tatau'aro ruma rau 'itaa. Ma'ata, 'ia God 'a 'adoma'i ha'a-ororiua di'u ma 'ome sigihia.
4 — ausente —
5 'I'amou namou dauai tahi tarau, mou 'onaai'i hau na 'ia God na hau'i 'anai ha'a-urasiai ruma anai Hi'ona Maea, naasi heisoi. Me 'iniai hei'a'auhi ana Jisas Kraest, moi tau'aro 'onaai piriisi maea nara tau'aro beiai mena anai Hi'ona Maea mara wate'i mareho tanaa God 'anai ha'a-wa'ewa'ea.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Na Usu-usu Maea 'a o'ani,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Mana nata dora na'i Usu-usu Maea 'a o'ani ro'u,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Na'i na'o ga'u, 'i'amou ai'a noni ana'ia God, mia God ai'a ahu ta'ahi'amou. Ma na'i 'ohani, 'i'amou ra'i noni ana'i na 'ia God 'a ahu ta'ahi'amou.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Arai do'ora mana asigu'i, 'i'amou mou awa moi 'onaai mahuara na'i marewanani, suria ni marewanani 'a ai'a huunai 'omaa amoou. Wai ha'atee wetewete tana'amou! Moi abu suriai hei'irisi ta'aa anai abe hasi'o, 'iniai abe hasi'o 'a hei'oi bwarasiai tahinga haoru namou awa iei na'i 'ohani.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Moi haa'i here nara goro neina 'oha 'iraaui sae ahurodo rai ha'ahuni'amou, rai re'i'i mareho goro mou haa'i marai ha'atee ha'agorohia God na'i 'oha nai aho'i mai.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 — ausente —
14 Moi araisuriraau ro'u Primia, 'inia neiraausi sae tatau'aro anai mwaeraha 'anai ha'a-mama'ai'i sae ta'a'i mana ha'atee ha'agorohi'i sae goro.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Bwa'i ta sae nai matai ha'a-abu'amou 'inia ta maho namoi raba haua, 'inia 'ia Kraest 'a bwane ha'a-dadara'amou. Ma'ata rei'uaa na o'asi, me 'i'amou ra'i sae tatau'aro mau ana'ia God. Mou gasi 'adoma'inia domou dadara'a mamoigu haa'i here nara ai'a odo-odo.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 'I'amou slev, moi awa na'i bahaidi heimarungi adaa'i na'otara amoo'i mamoi ha'ahouraau tarau. Moi haua o'asi, rei'uaa tara'i nei 'iniraau ra goro 'ini'amou ma tara'i nei ra here ha'a-ta'ai'amou.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 'A 'ua? 'O 'adoma'inia do'oi dauai ha'agorohi 'onaa ra ha'a-mama'ai'o 'iniai maho ta'aa na'o haa ma'o mwa'emwa'e moi 'inia? 'Ia God 'ai matai ha'agorohi'o moi 'onaa ra ha'a-mama'ai'o 'iniai maho goro na'o haua ma'o mwa'emwa'e 'inia.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Naia na 'ia God 'a soi'amou 'inia, 'inia 'ia Kraest 'a rongomaata'i 'ini'amou ma ha'ata'inia tana'amoui huunai herehere domoi suria.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 'Ia Kraest 'a ai'a haua ta ora-ora'a ma ai'a ta pwari'i nai hura'a na'i ngoona ta 'oha.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Na'i 'oha ra ha'atee ha'ata'aia, 'a ai'a heiarami 'inia ta ha'atee ta'aa. 'Oha na rongomaata'i 'a ai'a 'unua do'ai su'ua aho'i ta'aa. 'A 'u'uria moia God, 'ia mo'o na hihiiri odo-odo.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 'Ia Kraest 'a waa'i ora-ora'a agaa'i na'i abena 'oha na hano 'anai mae na'i dadaahoro, neina gai nugasiai ora-ora'a magai awa odo-odo. 'Ini'i maara na'i abena nagaugu goro aho'i 'inia.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Na'i na'o, 'i'amou mou 'onaaia ga'u i siip na teha ma na'i 'ohani mou aho'i mai beia mo'o na 'omesuri'amou ma taguma'ini'i tahingamoo'i.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
