¹ Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

¹ Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha oração; livra a minha vida do horror do inimigo.

² Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumult of the workers of iniquity,

² Esconde-me do secreto conselho dos maus e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniquidade,

³ who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,

³ os quais afiaram a sua língua como espadas; e armaram, por suas flechas, palavras amargas,

⁴ that they may shoot in secret places at a blameless man. Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil purpose. They converse of laying snares secretly. They say, Who will see them?

⁵ Firmam-se em mau intento; falam de armar laços secretamente e dizem: Quem nos verá?

⁶ They search out iniquities, [saying,] We have accomplished a diligent search. And the inward part of man and the heart [are] deep.

⁶ Fazem indagações maliciosas, inquirem tudo o que se pode inquirir; até o íntimo de cada um e o profundo coração.

⁷ But God will shoot at them. With an arrow they shall suddenly be wounded.

⁷ Mas Deus disparará sobre eles uma seta, e de repente ficarão feridos.

⁸ So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them. All who see them shall wag the head.

⁸ Assim, eles farão com que a sua língua se volte contra si mesmos; todos aqueles que os virem, fugirão.

⁹ And all men shall fear. And they shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely consider of his doing.

⁹ E todos os homens temerão e anunciarão a obra de Deus; e considerarão prudentemente os seus feitos.

¹⁰ A righteous man shall be glad in LORD, and shall take refuge in him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.

¹⁰ O justo se alegrará no Senhor e confiará nele; e todos os retos de coração se regozijarão.
