1 And it came to pass that, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of LORD their God, with which LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
1 E aconteceu que, quando Jeremias terminou de falar a todo o povo sobre todas as palavras do SENHOR seu Deus, pelas quais o SENHOR seu Deus o tinha enviado; exatamente todas estas palavras.
2 then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, spoke, saying to Jeremiah, Thou speak falsely. LORD our God has not sent thee to say, Ye shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there.
2 Então, falaram Azarias, o filho de Hosaías, e Joanã, o filho de Careá, e todos os homens orgulhosos, dizendo a Jeremias: Tu falas falsamente; o SENHOR nosso Deus não te enviou para dizer: Não adentreis o Egito para lá peregrinardes.
3 But Baruch the son of Neriah set upon thee against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.
3 Porém Baruque, o filho de Nerias, instiga a ti contra nós, para entregar-nos na mão dos caldeus, para que eles possam nos matar, ou nos levar cativos a Babilônia.
4 So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.
4 Então, Joanã, o filho de Careá, e todos os capitães das forças, e todo o povo, não obedeceram a voz do SENHOR, para habitar na terra de Judá.
5 But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations where they had been driven to sojourn in the land of Judah,
5 Porém Joanã, o filho de Careá, e todos os capitães das forças, tomaram todo o remanescente de Judá, que havia voltado de todas as nações, para onde eles tinham sido lançados, para habitar na terra de Judá;
6 the men, and the women, and the sons, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son o
6 homens, e mulheres, e crianças, e as filhas do rei, e cada pessoa que Nebuzaradã, o capitão da guarda, tinha deixado com Gedalias, o filho de Aicão, o filho de Safã, e Jeremias, o profeta, e Baruque, o filho de Nerias.
7 and they came into the land of Egypt, for they did not obey the voice of LORD. And they came to Tahpanhes.
7 Assim eles adentraram a terra do Egito, porque eles não obedeceram a voz do SENHOR, e chegaram eles a Tafnes.
8 Then the word of LORD came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
8 Então veio a palavra do SENHOR a Jeremias em Tafnes, dizendo:
9 Take great stones in thy hand, and hide them in mortar in the brickwork, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah,
9 Toma grandes pedras em tua mão, e esconde-as no barro, no forno de tijolos que está à entrada da casa de Faraó em Tafnes, à vista dos homens de Judá;
10 and say to them, Thus says LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid, and he shall spread his royal pavi
10 e dize-lhes: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que eu enviarei, e tomarei Nabucodonosor, o rei de Babilônia, meu servo, e colocarei o seu trono sobre estas pedras que eu escondi, e ele irá estender seu pavilhão real sobre elas.
11 And he shall come, and shall smite the land of Egypt, such as are for death, to death, and such as are for captivity, to captivity, and such as are for the sword, to the sword.
11 E quando ele chegar, ele afligirá a terra do Egito, e entregará os que são para morte, à morte, e os que são para cativeiro, ao cativeiro, e os que são para a espada, à espada.
12 And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive. And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt as a shepherd puts on his garment, and he shall go forth from there
12 E eu acenderei um fogo nas casas dos deuses do Egito, e ele os queimará, e os levará cativos. E ele adornar-se-á com a terra do Egito, como um pastor veste a sua roupa. E ele sairá dali em paz.
13 He shall also break the pillars of Beth-shemesh that is in the land of Egypt. And the houses of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.
13 Ele também quebrará as imagens de Bete-Semes, que está na terra do Egito, e as casas dos deuses dos egípcios ele queimará a fogo.
