Isaías 57

1 The righteous man perishes, and no man lays it to heart. And merciful men are taken away; none considering that the righteous man is taken away from the evil [to come].
1 “Os justos perecem, e não há quem se importa com isso; os piedosos desaparecem sem que alguém considere nesse fato. Pois o justo é levado antes que venha o mal
2 He enters into peace. They rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.
2 e entra na paz; os que andam em retidão descansam no seu leito.”
3 But draw near here, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the harlot.
3 “Mas vocês, filhos de feiticeira, vocês, descendência de adúlteros e de prostitutas, venham cá!
4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves, against whom ye make a wide mouth, and put out the tongue? Are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
4 De quem vocês estão zombando? Contra quem estão escancarando a boca e mostrando a língua? Por acaso vocês não são filhos da transgressão, descendência da falsidade,
5 ye who inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree, who kill the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?
5 vocês que se inflamam em seus desejos junto aos carvalhos, debaixo de toda árvore frondosa, e sacrificam os seus filhos nos vales e nas fendas dos penhascos?
6 Among the smooth [stones] of the valley is thy portion. They, they are thy lot, even to them thou have poured a drink-offering; thou have offered an oblation. Shall I be appeased for these things?
6 Entre as pedras lisas dos ribeiros vocês escolhem os seus ídolos; elas são a sua parte. Sobre elas vocês também oferecem as suas libações e apresentam ofertas de cereais. Será que eu poderia estar contente com estas coisas?
7 Upon a high and lofty mountain thou have set thy bed. Thou also went up there to offer sacrifice.
7 Sobre um monte alto e elevado vocês põem o seu leito; para lá vocês sobem para oferecer sacrifícios.
8 And behind the doors and the posts thou have set up thy memorial. For thou have uncovered [thyself] to another than me, and have gone up. Thou have enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them. Thou loved their bed where th
8 Atrás das portas e das ombreiras vocês põem os seus símbolos pagãos. Afastando-se de mim, vocês sobem ao leito e o alargam para os seus amantes, apresentando-lhes as suas exigências. Vocês gostam de se deitar com eles e lhes contemplar a nudez.”
9 And thou went to the king with oil, and increased thy perfumes, and sent thine ambassadors far off, and debased thyself even to Sheol.
9 “Você vai ao rei com óleo e multiplica os seus perfumes; envia os seus embaixadores para longe, até a profundidade da sepultura.
10 Thou were wearied with the length of thy way, yet thou did not say, It is in vain. Thou found a quickening of thy strength, therefore thou were not faint.
10 Nessa longa viagem você se cansa, mas não diz: ‘É inútil!’ Você encontra novas forças; por isso, não desfalece.”
11 And of whom have thou been afraid and in fear, that thou lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? Have I not held my peace even of long time, and thou do not fear me?
11 “Mas de quem você teve receio ou temor, para que mentisse e não se lembrasse de mim, nem me levasse a sério? Será que é porque me calo, e isso desde muito tempo, e você não me teme?
12 I will declare thy righteousness. And as for thy works, they shall not profit thee.
12 Eu publicarei essa sua justiça e as suas obras, mas isso não a beneficiará em nada.
13 When thou cry, let those whom thou have gathered deliver thee. But the wind shall take them; a breath shall carry them all away. But he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.
13 Quando você clamar por ajuda, que a sua coleção de ídolos a livre! O vento levará todos eles; um sopro os arrebatará. Mas o que confia em mim herdará a terra e possuirá o meu santo monte.”
14 And he will say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way. Take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.
14 Então se dirá: “Aterrem, aterrem a estrada, preparem o caminho, tirem os tropeços do caminho do meu povo.”
15 For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart o
15 Porque assim diz o Alto, o Sublime, que habita a eternidade e cujo nome é Santo: “Habito no alto e santo lugar, mas habito também com o contrito e abatido de espírito, para vivificar o espírito dos abatidos e vivificar o coração dos contritos.
16 For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry, for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls that I have made.
16 Pois não farei litígio para sempre, nem me indignarei continuamente; porque, do contrário, o espírito definharia diante de mim, bem como o fôlego da vida, que eu criei.
17 For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry, and smote him. I hid [my face] and was angry, and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.
17 Por causa da maldade da cobiça do meu povo eu me indignei e o feri; escondi o meu rosto e me indignei, mas, em sua rebeldia, o povo seguiu o seu próprio caminho.”
18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him. I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.
18 “Tenho visto os caminhos do meu povo, mas vou curá-lo; também o guiarei e tornarei a dar consolação, a ele e aos seus pranteadores.
19 I create the fruit of the lips. Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says LORD, and I will heal him.
19 Como fruto dos seus lábios criei a paz, paz para os que estão longe e para os que estão perto”, diz o “e eu o sararei.
20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.
20 Mas os ímpios são como o mar agitado, que não se pode aquietar, cujas águas lançam de si lama e lodo.
21 There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked.
21 Para os ímpios, diz o meu Deus, não há paz.”
