Isaías 51

1 Hearken to me, ye who follow after righteousness, ye who seek LORD. Look to the rock from where ye were hewn, and to the hold of the pit from where ye were dug.
1 Ouvi-me vós, os que procurais a justiça, os que buscais o Senhor ; olhai para a rocha de que fostes cortados e para a caverna do poço de que fostes cavados.
2 Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you. For when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.
2 Olhai para Abraão, vosso pai, e para Sara, que vos deu à luz; porque era ele único, quando eu o chamei, o abençoei e o multipliquei.
3 For LORD has comforted Zion. He has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of LORD. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
3 Porque o Senhor tem piedade de Sião; terá piedade de todos os lugares assolados dela, e fará o seu deserto como o Éden, e a sua solidão, como o jardim do Senhor ; regozijo e alegria se acharão nela, ações de graças e som de música.
4 Attend to me, O my people, and give ear to me, O my nation. For a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.
4 Atendei-me, povo meu, e escutai-me, nação minha; porque de mim sairá a lei, e estabelecerei o meu direito como luz dos povos.
5 My righteousness is near. My salvation has gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples. The isles shall wait for me, and on my arm they shall trust.
5 Perto está a minha justiça, aparece a minha salvação, e os meus braços dominarão os povos; as terras do mar me aguardam e no meu braço esperam.
6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath. For the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it shall die in like manner. But my salvation shal
6 Levantai os olhos para os céus e olhai para a terra embaixo, porque os céus desaparecerão como a fumaça, e a terra envelhecerá como um vestido, e os seus moradores morrerão como mosquitos, mas a minha salvação durará para sempre, e a minha justiça não será anulada.
7 Hearken to me, ye who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law. Fear ye not the reproach of men, nor be ye dismayed at their revilings.
7 Ouvi-me, vós que conheceis a justiça, vós, povo em cujo coração está a minha lei; não temais o opróbrio dos homens, nem vos turbeis por causa das suas injúrias.
8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool. But my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation to all generations.
8 Porque a traça os roerá como a um vestido, e o bicho os comerá como à lã; mas a minha justiça durará para sempre, e a minha salvação, para todas as gerações.
9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of LORD. Awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Is it not thou who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?
9 Desperta, desperta, arma-te de força, braço do Senhor ; desperta como nos dias passados, como nas gerações antigas; não és tu aquele que abateu o Egito e feriu o monstro marinho?
10 Is it not thou who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?
10 Não és tu aquele que secou o mar, as águas do grande abismo? Aquele que fez o caminho no fundo do mar, para que passassem os remidos?
11 And the ransomed of LORD shall return, and come with singing to Zion, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain gladness and joy, [and] sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
11 Assim voltarão os resgatados do Senhor e virão a Sião com júbilo, e perpétua alegria lhes coroará a cabeça; o regozijo e a alegria os alcançarão, e deles fugirão a dor e o gemido.
12 I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are thou, that thou are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass,
12 Eu, eu sou aquele que vos consola; quem, pois, és tu, para que temas o homem, que é mortal, ou o filho do homem, que não passa de erva?
13 and have forgotten LORD thy maker, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth, and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? And where is the fury
13 Quem és tu que te esqueces do Senhor , que te criou, que estendeu os céus e fundou a terra, e temes continuamente todo o dia o furor do tirano, que se prepara para destruir? Onde está o furor do tirano?
14 The captive exile shall speedily be loosed, and he shall not die in the pit, nor shall his bread fail.
14 O exilado cativo depressa será libertado, lá não morrerá, lá não descerá à sepultura; o seu pão não lhe faltará.
15 For I am LORD thy God, who stirs up the sea so that the waves of it roar. LORD of hosts is his name.
15 Pois eu sou o Senhor , teu Deus, que agito o mar, de modo que bramem as suas ondas — o Senhor dos Exércitos é o meu nome.
16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and have covered thee in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, Thou are my people.
16 Ponho as minhas palavras na tua boca e te protejo com a sombra da minha mão, para que eu estenda novos céus, funde nova terra e diga a Sião: Tu és o meu povo.
17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, who have drunk at the hand of LORD the cup of his wrath. Thou have drunk the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.
17 Desperta, desperta, levanta-te, ó Jerusalém, que da mão do Senhor bebeste o cálice da sua ira, o cálice de atordoamento, e o esgotaste.
18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she has brought forth, nor is there any who takes her by the hand among all the sons that she has brought up.
18 De todos os filhos que ela teve nenhum a guiou; de todos os filhos que criou nenhum a tomou pela mão.
19 These two things have befallen thee (Who shall bemoan thee?): Desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword. How shall I comfort thee?
19 Estas duas coisas te aconteceram; quem teve compaixão de ti? A assolação e a ruína, a fome e a espada! Quem foi o teu consolador?
20 Thy sons have fainted. They lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net. They are full of the wrath of LORD, the rebuke of thy God.
20 Os teus filhos já desmaiaram, jazem nas estradas de todos os caminhos, como o antílope, na rede; estão cheios da ira do Senhor e da repreensão do teu Deus.
21 Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine.
21 Pelo que agora ouve isto, ó tu que estás aflita e embriagada, mas não de vinho.
22 Thus says thy lord LORD, and thy God who pleads the cause of his people: Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath. Thou shall no more drink it again.
22 Assim diz o teu Senhor, o Senhor , teu Deus, que pleiteará a causa do seu povo: Eis que eu tomo da tua mão o cálice de atordoamento, o cálice da minha ira; jamais dele beberás;
23 And I will put it into the hand of those who afflict thee, who have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over, and thou have laid thy back as the ground, and as the street, to those who go over.
23 pô-lo-ei nas mãos dos que te atormentaram, que disseram à tua alma: Abaixa-te, para que passemos sobre ti; e tu puseste as costas como chão e como rua para os transeuntes.
