Isaías 16

1 Send ye the lambs for the ruler of the land from Selah to the wilderness, to the mount of the daughter of Zion.
1 Enviai cordeiros ao dominador da terra, desde Sela, pelo deserto, até ao monte da filha de Sião.
2 For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.
2 Como pássaro espantado, lançado fora do ninho, assim são as filhas de Moabe nos vaus do Arnom, que dizem:
3 Give counsel, execute justice, make thy shade as the night in the midst of the noonday. Hide the outcasts. Do not betray the fugitive.
3 Dá conselhos, executa o juízo e faze a tua sombra no pino do meio-dia como a noite; esconde os desterrados e não descubras os fugitivos.
4 Let my outcasts dwell with thee. As for Moab, be thou a covert to him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortioner is brought to nothing. Destruction ceases. The oppressors are consumed out of the land.
4 Habitem entre ti os desterrados de Moabe, serve-lhes de esconderijo contra o destruidor. Quando o homem violento tiver fim, a destruição for desfeita e o opressor deixar a terra,
5 And a throne shall be established in loving kindness, and he shall sit on it in truth, in the tent of David, judging, and seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness.
5 então, um trono se firmará em benignidade, e sobre ele no tabernáculo de Davi se assentará com fidelidade um que julgue, busque o juízo e não tarde em fazer justiça.
6 We have heard of the pride of Moab, [that] he is very proud, even of his arrogance, and his pride, and his wrath. His boastings are nothing.
6 Temos ouvido da soberba de Moabe, soberbo em extremo; da sua arrogância, do seu orgulho e do seu furor; a sua jactância é vã.
7 Therefore Moab shall wail for Moab, everyone shall wail. Ye shall mourn for the raisin-cakes of Kir-hareseth, utterly stricken.
7 Portanto, uivará Moabe, cada um por Moabe; gemereis profundamente abatidos pelas pastas de uvas de Quir-Haresete.
8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, [and] the vine of Sibmah. The lords of the nations have broken down the choice branches of it, which reached even to Jazer, which wandered into the wilderness. Its shoots were spread abroad. They
8 Porque os campos de Hesbom estão murchos; os senhores das nações talaram os melhores ramos da vinha de Sibma, que se estenderam até Jazer e se perderam no deserto, sarmentos que se estenderam e passaram além do mar.
9 Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah. I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh. for upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest the [battle] shout has fallen.
9 Pelo que prantearei, com o pranto de Jazer, a vinha de Sibma; regar-te-ei com as minhas lágrimas, ó Hesbom, ó Eleale; pois, sobre os teus frutos de verão e sobre a tua vindima, caiu já dos inimigos o eia, como o de pisadores.
10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field. And in the vineyards there shall be no singing nor joyful noise. No treader shall tread out wine in the presses. I have made the [vintage] shout to cease.
10 Fugiu a alegria e o regozijo do pomar; nas vinhas já não se canta, nem há júbilo algum; já não se pisarão as uvas nos lagares. Eu fiz cessar o eia dos pisadores.
11 Therefore my heart sounds like a harp for Moab, and my inward parts for Kir-heres.
11 Pelo que por Moabe vibra como harpa o meu íntimo, e o meu coração, por Quir-Heres.
12 And it shall come to pass, when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself upon the high place, and shall come to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.
12 Ver-se-á como Moabe se cansa nos altos, como entra no santuário a orar e nada alcança.
13 This is the word that LORD spoke concerning Moab in time past.
13 Esta é a palavra que o Senhor há muito pronunciou contra Moabe.
14 But now LORD has spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude. And the remnant shall be very small and of no account.
14 Agora, porém, o Senhor fala e diz: Dentro de três anos, tais como os de jornaleiros, será envilecida a glória de Moabe, com toda a sua grande multidão; e o restante será pouco, pequeno e débil.
