Tito 1

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Paul|strong="G3972", a servant|strong="G1401" of God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G1161" an apostle|strong="G0652" of Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547", according to|strong="G2596" the faith|strong="G4102" of|strong="G1588" God’s|strong="G2316" elect|strong="G1588", and|strong="G2532" the acknowledging|strong="G1922" of the truth|strong="G0225" which|strong="G3588" is after|strong="G2596" godliness|strong="G2150";

In|strong="G1909" hope|strong="G1680" of eternal|strong="G0166" life|strong="G2222", which|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316", that cannot lie|strong="G0893", promised|strong="G1861" before|strong="G4253" the world|strong="G5550" began|strong="G0166";

But|strong="G1161" hath|strong="G5319" in due|strong="G2398" times|strong="G2540" manifested|strong="G5319" his|strong="G0846" word|strong="G3056" through|strong="G1722" preaching|strong="G2782", which|strong="G3739" is committed unto|strong="G4100" me|strong="G1473" according to|strong="G2596" the commandment|strong="G2003" of God|strong="G2316" our|strong="G2257" Saviour|strong="G4990";

To Titus|strong="G5103", mine own|strong="G1103" son|strong="G5043" after|strong="G2596" the common|strong="G2839" faith|strong="G4102": Grace|strong="G5485", mercy|strong="G1656", and peace|strong="G1515", from|strong="G0575" God|strong="G2316" the Father|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" the Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" our|strong="G2257" Saviour|strong="G4990".

For this|strong="G5127" cause|strong="G5484" left I|strong="G2641" thee|strong="G4571" in|strong="G1722" Crete|strong="G2914", that|strong="G2443" thou shouldest set in order|strong="G1930" the things|strong="G3588" that are wanting|strong="G3007", and|strong="G2532" ordain|strong="G2525" elders|strong="G4245" in every|strong="G2596" city|strong="G4172", as|strong="G5613" I|strong="G1473" had appointed|strong="G1299" thee|strong="G4671":

If|strong="G1487" any|strong="G5100" be|strong="G2076" blameless|strong="G0410", the husband|strong="G0435" of one|strong="G1520" wife|strong="G1135", having|strong="G2192" faithful|strong="G4103" children|strong="G5043" not|strong="G3361" accused|strong="G2724" of riot|strong="G0810" or|strong="G2228" unruly|strong="G0506".

For|strong="G1063" a bishop|strong="G1985" must|strong="G1163" be|strong="G1511" blameless|strong="G0410", as|strong="G5613" the steward|strong="G3623" of God|strong="G2316"; not|strong="G3361" selfwilled|strong="G0829", not|strong="G3361" soon angry|strong="G3711", not|strong="G3361" given to wine|strong="G3943", no|strong="G3361" striker|strong="G4131", not|strong="G3361" given to filthy lucre|strong="G0146";

But|strong="G0235" a lover of hospitality|strong="G5382", a lover of good men|strong="G5358", sober|strong="G4998", just|strong="G1342", holy|strong="G3741", temperate|strong="G1468";

Holding fast|strong="G0472" the faithful|strong="G4103" word|strong="G3056" as|strong="G2596" he hath been taught|strong="G1322", that|strong="G2443" he may be|strong="G5600" able|strong="G1415" by|strong="G1722" sound|strong="G5198" doctrine|strong="G1319" both|strong="G2532" to exhort|strong="G3870" and|strong="G2532" to convince|strong="G1651" the gainsayers|strong="G0483".

For|strong="G1063" there are|strong="G1526" many|strong="G4183" unruly|strong="G0506" and|strong="G2532" vain talkers|strong="G3151" and|strong="G2532" deceivers|strong="G5423", specially|strong="G3122" they|strong="G3588" of|strong="G1537" the circumcision|strong="G4061":

Whose|strong="G3739" mouths|strong="G1993" must|strong="G1163" be stopped|strong="G1993", who|strong="G3748" subvert|strong="G0396" whole|strong="G3650" houses|strong="G3624", teaching|strong="G1321" things which|strong="G3739" they ought|strong="G1163" not|strong="G3361", for|strong="G5484" filthy|strong="G0150" lucre’s|strong="G2771" sake|strong="G5484".

One|strong="G5100" of|strong="G1537" themselves|strong="G0846", even a prophet|strong="G4396" of their|strong="G0846" own|strong="G2398", said|strong="G2036", The Cretians|strong="G2912" are alway|strong="G0104" liars|strong="G5583", evil|strong="G2556" beasts|strong="G2342", slow|strong="G0692" bellies|strong="G1064".

This|strong="G3778" witness|strong="G3141" is|strong="G2076" true|strong="G0227". Wherefore|strong="G1223" rebuke|strong="G1651" them|strong="G0846" sharply|strong="G0664", that|strong="G2443" they may be sound|strong="G5198" in|strong="G1722" the faith|strong="G4102";

Not|strong="G3361" giving heed to|strong="G4337" Jewish|strong="G2451" fables|strong="G3454", and|strong="G2532" commandments|strong="G1785" of men|strong="G0444", that turn from|strong="G0654" the truth|strong="G0225".

Unto the pure|strong="G2513" all things|strong="G3956" are pure|strong="G2513": but|strong="G1161" unto them that are defiled|strong="G3392" and|strong="G2532" unbelieving|strong="G0571" is nothing|strong="G3762" pure|strong="G2513"; but|strong="G0235" even|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" mind|strong="G3563" and|strong="G2532" conscience|strong="G4893" is defiled|strong="G3392".

They profess|strong="G3670" that they know|strong="G1492" God|strong="G2316"; but|strong="G1161" in works|strong="G2041" they deny|strong="G0720" him, being|strong="G5607" abominable|strong="G0947", and|strong="G2532" disobedient|strong="G0545", and|strong="G2532" unto|strong="G4314" every|strong="G3956" good|strong="G0018" work|strong="G2041" reprobate|strong="G0096".
